Sometimes miracles don't happen...
Yavanna makes the Earth move. And crack open.
If what the Valar do is 'subcreation', could they perform submiracles?
Also, they definitely need to call in Yavanna since she's the one who designed the bumblebee, which also, supposedly, is too heavy to fly..
Random question (actually, something I saw being asked elsewhere online): Is there a canonical singular form of the Sindarin word 'Galadhrim'? ('Tree-folk', referring to the people of Lothlórien.) After some research I guessed at Galadhel ('tree-elf') but I'd be inrerested to know if it's been discussed already elsewhere and a consensus reached. The same question would go for other Sindarin nation-names like Gondolindrim and Iathrim.
Since it's been a while, here's a reminder of who's who in the top row:
Yavanna, Aulë (behind Varda), Varda, Manwë — Vana, Tulkas, Estë, Ulmo (behind Estë), Vairë, Oromë, Irmo, Arien, Ingwë, Indis, Finarfin, Ilmarë. It's BoLT canon that the elves were invited to this meeting, not just the Valar.

I'm still alive! And to get back into the habit of posting after a six-week absence, here's a short story I've had sitting on my disk for a while,almost-finished.
It's a sequel to Rite of Passage , in the same continuity as Tying the Knot and A Matter of Perspective. It features Lissiel, the chief handmaiden of Her Royal Highness, Crown Princess Nerdanel. The exact moment the story begins is just after Lissiel has finished having a major agument with the palace cook, the day before Nerdanel's marriage to Fëanor; but the bulk of the story is a flashback to Lissiel's training with the Valar. (As detailed in 'Rite of Passage').

If you remember, Vána's plan to revive th e/Trees by pouring out their liquid light on the roots failed, but it's been suggested that Yavanna (as the Vala of nature and the original creatrix of the Trees) should have bene there too, and it might have worked.
Vána's been naughty.
