FAQs

If you care about looking after yours and your family’s health and wellbeing, you should join CSSC. We’ve been working in partnership with the civil service and public sector for over 100 years, so we know a thing or two about helping colleagues from across the country to relax, maximise their free time and do more of what they love with the people they love.

Whatever you’re interested in, whether that’s sports, health, fitness, adventure, excitement, relaxation, saving money, spending time with loved ones, improving your work/life balance or finding new communities or passions, we can help you thrive.

We don’t currently offer joint memberships, but your partner, friend or colleague can join separately to enjoy all the same amazing benefits that you do. Plus, if they’re retired or drawing a pension, they could enjoy the same great benefits at the discounted monthly rate.

Many members save over £500* a year with their CSSC membership. All CSSC members get over £300** of instant benefits including:

  • Free annual entry to all English Heritage and Cadw sites.
  • Unlimited entry to both Kew Gardens and Wakehurst.
  • Free access to Personify Health™ app and Sworkit™ fitness videos.
  • Huge savings on gym memberships, cinema, theatre, zoo and theme park tickets.
  • Free funding to play sport, gain qualifications and compete internationally.
  • Retail savings on thousands of local, high street and online stores.

*Savings calculated by combining the nearest equivalent memberships with English Heritage, Cadw and Kew Gardens. Plus, £150 cashback savings accrued from CSSC savings and annual savings at Aylesbury PureGym with a plus membership.

Yes, definitely. It’s not just the member who benefits from CSSC’s partners and offers, but the whole family and even friends too. Not only can the whole family enjoy unlimited access to English Heritage and Cadw, but members can purchase cinema, theatre, zoo and tour tickets for multiple family members. Plus, many of our sports events and activities are open to others of all ages to attend, often for free and sometimes for just a small fee.

We regularly host live, family friendly events across the country which kids, adults, parents and grandparents can attend, watch and take part in.

Of course. CSSC was originally set up in 1921 for precisely that reason. To unite the civil service with sports, games and friendly competition. We’ve grown hugely since then with thousands more offers and opportunities. But kept our continuing mission, to ensure colleagues from across the country can come together and make meaningful connections in an inclusive, welcoming environment, which opens up opportunities to look after their physical, mental and emotional health, wellbeing and happiness.

We offer volunteer-led days out, sports, trips and events across the country. CSSC is split into regions, where days out and activities are organised by local people, who really know the area and the people they represent. These are fantastic ways to meet new people, connect with old and new colleagues, share hobbies and grow new passions.
