New VIRTUAL STI Hackathon

Dear All,

I know several of you were not able to compete in June because you couldn't travel to Irvine, CA. I am happy to share that we will be kicking-off an all-virtual STI Hackathon on September 19th (ends October 30th). I hope you will join us!

Please read the eligibility criteria closely--for example, it is open to individuals who are 18 years of age or older and U.S. citizens or permanent legal residents only.

Press Release: Winning Teams Announced

Dear All, 

The press release announcing the winning teams was posted today and is available here (a breif version directing readers to the main press release is also available on the NAM website).

Thank you to all the competitors for making this such a successful event. Due to the interest in this topic, we are now planning to host a virtual-only STI and Tech Hackathon in late summer through early fall. We will post an update here when that information is posted--we hope you will particpate.

Judging & PPT & Recording

Good evening Hackers! We hope things are going well! Tomorrow, doors open/food available at 7am. Four updates:

1) Abraham Johnson's PPT was posted. I do not yet have Dr. Romaguera's presentation, if we recieve, we will post.

What to Build & Submission Guidelines

Dear Competitors. 

We are now just 3 days out from the Hackathon! We are so excited to see what you come up with. We have posted a detailed description of What to Build at the event and the Submission Requirements to the "Resources" Tab. We also compiled most of the resources from the resource tab into a single information packet (available here and in the resources tab). Datasets, Team Formation, and Questions

1) A list of publicly available/open datasets has been added to the "Resource" tab on Devpost. You may use these or any other publicly available data set not on this list. 

2) Team formation: Based on feedback from many of you, for those who registered as individuals, we will wait until the day of the event to assign you to a team. If you registered as an individual, but have since found teammates, please let us know by emailing STIhackathon@nas.edu and include your name and the name of your teammates(s). 

If you have not yet found a team, we will begin helping you teamup this week. 

If you registered for the Hackathon, but have not yet recieved a confitmation email from A. Geller, please email STIhackathon@nas.edu ASAP.

Hotel Room Block & Confirm Participation

The information for the hotel room block has been added to the event page and is below as well. If you have not yet responded to the email from A. Geller confirming you particpation, please do so ASAP. If you did not recieve an email from A. Geller, please email STIhackathon@nas.edu.

The hotel room block (for self pay) is availble here until June 7 at $199 per night.

An email was sent yesterday (May 25th) to each hackathon registrant with a few questions regarding your registration (from A. Geller). Please review and respond.
