St. Felix Centre has always been and will always be pet-friendly! We understand that a person’s pet can be their most effective form of support – this can be particularly true for a person experiencing homelessness.
Pets play a powerful role in their owners’ mental health and increase their chances of improving their lives and overcoming challenges.
All of our guests cherish their pets and take good care of them.
However, sometimes they have a difficult time accessing veterinary care and other services. Fortunately for our furry friends, this is where P.A.W.S. jumps in! Our P.A.W.S. Program (Pets Accessing Wellness Supports) provides guests staying with St. Felix Centre with the opportunity to apply for emergency veterinary services up to a value of $500. The P.A.W.S Program cannot cover any preventative or non-emergency measures but can provide referrals to low-cost or free vet services for these needs. St. Felix Centre recognizes that these are not ordinary pets and are not just companions but in many cases, the only family our guests have left.
