Stereonet is a specialized tool for visualizing and analyzing orientation data used in structural and engineering geology. It plots planes and lines as great circles, poles, and small circles on equal-area (Schmidt) or equal-angle (Wulff) stereographic projections, making it easy to see patterns such as clusters, girdles, and preferred orientations. The software supports common input formats (strike/dip, dip direction/dip, trend/plunge), calculates intersections and angular relationships, identifies best-fit planes and lines, and produces density contours to summarize datasets.

You can organize measurements into labeled sets, style them by color and symbol, and add clear annotations for communication and teaching. Export publication-quality figures to include in reports, presentations, and articles. Typical uses include fold and fabric analysis, joint and fracture studies, fault-slip and kinematic assessments, and spherical statistical summaries. Whether for classroom instruction or professional interpretation of complex structural data, Stereonet provides an intuitive, reliable workspace for orientation analysis.

Stereonet is developed by Rick Allmendinger and is used by 1 user of Software Informer. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 11.2, 11.3, 11.4, 11.5 and 11.6. The name of the program executable file is Stereonet.exe.
