Sustaining our Impact

Although the STEM Teach Indiana program came to a close on August 31, 2025; its impact lives on through the dedication of the educators who participated and the students they served. Over the past 12 years, teachers from all areas of Indiana have committed time, energy, and passion to expanding their knowledge and improving their classrooms. Their hard work inspired students, strengthened STEM learning, and created lasting change in communities across the state. The Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning (CELL) and the Independent Colleges of Indiana (ICI) are grateful to the participating higher education institutions, ICHE, IDOE, and other organizations such as 1st Maker Space, Caylor Solutions, Indy Word Nerd, and more for partnering or working with STEM Teach for more than a decade.

CELL’s teacher credentialing program, Teach Dual Credit Indiana, was funded through December 31, 2025.   At this time, no additional information is available regarding future funding for STEM Teach or Teach Dual Credit Indiana.

"An Unparalleled Platform"

A TESTIMONIAL FROM A STEM TEACH PARTICIPANT SEEKING DUAL CREDIT CREDENTIALS

“STEM Teach has provided an unparalleled platform for educators to grow and develop in the realm of STEM education. Through their consistent support and resources, I’ve been able to provide an experience for my students at a small, rural school which was previously not available. At zero financial cost to myself, STEM Teach has provided a platform to gain accreditation to teach dual credit courses in physics and chemistry, with the additional goal of teaching dual credit math in the future. The sheer possibility to teach such a variety of dual credit content has been a wonderful development for my school and students.”

-Austin, Science/STEM Teacher

"These Courses Have Challenged & Inspired Me"

A TESTIMONIAL FROM A STEM TEACH PARTICIPANT SEEKING A MASTER’S DEGREE

“Through STEM Teach I was able to enter the MA program in STEM through the University of Indianapolis and begin a journey on a master’s degree in STEM education.  STEM Teach has not only allowed me to take classes without the additional burden of student loans but these courses have challenged me and inspired me in my classroom! The benefits will come to my students as I aid them to develop their 21st century skills – collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking. This is a great program and well worth the time that you will put into it! I cannot thank STEM Teach and the University of Indianapolis enough!”

-Susan, Biology, Chemistry, Physics & Space Science Teacher

"Cherished Resource of Relevant Learning Opportunities"

A TESTIMONIAL FROM A STEM TEACH PARTICIPANT SEEKING A GRADUATE CERTIFICATE

“This is my ninth year of teaching mathematics at Edgewood High School. Our school pursued a Project-Based Learning initiative fairly early in my teaching career. My first introduction to STEM Teach was a Project-Based Learning weeklong summer workshop. It was an amazing opportunity to collaborate with high school mathematics teachers throughout Indiana and create units of instruction that I still implement in my classroom.

After obtaining my dual-credit certification, STEM Teach continues to benefit and help support my lifelong learning goals. Last year, I pursued a STEM certification and took four outstanding classes, including a Project-Based Learning, Technology in Mathematics, and Engineering class. I gained so many classroom resources, learned and developed a love of coding, and even built a working hand out of cardboard and paper clips.

Even though I have completed my dual-credit credential, STEM Teach is a cherished resource of relevant learning opportunities for me. I continue to look forward to each semester’s offerings and value the chance to be able to expand my knowledge with classes and workshops that interest me. I use these ideas to create memorable learning experiences for my students that, from time to time, answer the age-old question of “When will we ever use this?”.”

-Heather, Algebra II, PreCalculus/Trigonometry Teacher
