So, my lore is kind of meta. Allow me to explain…

I’m adopted so of course my debut novel, FIRST LOVE LANGUAGE, is a fictional story about an adoptee who learns Mandarin to find her biological mom. Here’s the kicker–I actually found mine in real life! In the summer of 2024, I flew all the way to Taiwan and hugged her for the first time in twenty-five years. I don’t know if you believe in manifestation, but that’s kind of what it’s giving.

And now, to break the fourth wall even more, I’m going to Taiwan in the fall of 2025 to learn Mandarin with the money I made from publishing FIRST LOVE LANGUAGE. Every single adoptee story is unique. This one just happens to be mine.
