It is in my opinion that this game is a masterpiece. It is one of the best games to come out of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios, and it is one of the best games to come out of SEGA period.

The storytelling, albeit is a slow burn at first, is just the paragon of the Yakuza franchise as a whole. It has so many twists and turns, as well as a rainbow of emotions; you'll be shocked, you'll laugh, you'll cry, and most importantly you will love.

As far as graphics go, being set in the gritty yet colorful world of the late 1980's Japan does this game many favors. The graphics are stylized yet realistic. The game is very flashy and colorful, it's one of the most delectable pieces of eye-candy that RGG has ever offered.

The gameplay is as Yakuza as you can get. It is fast paced, flashy, and most importantly, fun. It is fun to beat the hell out of punks who cross your way, and rotten businessmen who are doing Kamurocho no favors. All of the styles feel unique, yet also similar as you switch between the two main characters Kiryu and Majima. (I.E. Thug and Brawler style or Slugger and Beast).

In all this is a game that will keep you on the edge of your seat, guessing at what will happen next. It'll have you engaged with those combos and heat moves to pummel the enemy, and it will have your eyes wandering those flashy Tokyo streets. This is just one of those very special games in a very special franchise.
