Welcome to The Sand Box, pick a corner and dig a hole!

This group initially started as a place to chat in between video games. Over time it grew into a small community, a place where people came home to after a long day at work or school. A place where NEET lurkers sat in all day chatting it up. Like most internet communities, people joined and people left. And amazingly enough, some people joined back after years. Things change, but The Sand Box always stayed the same. A group of random people sitting in a chatroom shooting the ♥♥♥♥ for hours on end. Without being too dramatic, this place meant something to a lot of people, ever if it was only for a couple months.

Nearly 5 years of chatting on Steam and it’s time for a move. Over the past couple years, I’ve grown discontent with Steam’s lack of support for groups and constant disconnects. It’s time for a move, a move to Discord. Discord offers us everything we have wanted: mobile group chat, bots, streamlined images and videos, and better VOIP.

Due to the excitement and immediate migration by nearly every member, we will be moving to Discord much sooner than expected. The Discord server will fully unlock on December 1st. On December 1st, all of us will exclusively use Discord (hopefully). I strongly suggest you download the Discord client instead of using the website. If you’ve got any questions you can always message me or Harmonica on Steam or now Discord.

The group will still exist, I couldn’t ever delete this group. However, the chat segment will be on Discord. If you have somehow come across this post and are wondering why no one is in the Steam chat, the Discord link is at the bottom of this post. This will not be the final announcement on Steam. I will make announcements on Steam and Discord.

All seasonal traditions will resume the giveaways and the secret santa will be announced in detail on Discord in the coming week. Merry Christmas and God bless. See you later sand cowboy.
