mutly: a social enterprise fighting loneliness in later life

The Hamburg startup mutly aims to make venues like football stadiums, theatres and concert halls accessible again for older people with limited mobility. Each month, it offers outings to a wide range of events, including tickets, transport and personal assistance at an affordable all-in price. CEO Leonie Dierksen has long been engaged with the issue of loneliness in old age and explains in the video who inspired her and the particular challenges faced by this target group.

Yang Liu: From Researcher to Founder

Born in Wuhan, biochemist Yang Liu’s career took him from Lund, Sweden, to Singapore and finally to Hamburg. After working at the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine, he co-founded Panadea Diagnostics with two colleagues. The company develops precise laboratory tests for viral diseases.
