§ 01 — The founding attorney

A former prosecutor who returned to the same body of law from the other side of the courtroom.

Mr. Sris is a former prosecutor. He founded the Law Offices Of SRIS, P.C. in 1997 and has practiced continuously ever since. He is admitted in five U.S. jurisdictions — Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia, New Jersey, and New York. In 2019, Mr. Sris testified before the Virginia House Courts of Justice Committee in support of HB 635 (chief patron Del. David Bulova), which addressed Va. Code § 20-107.3(g) — Virginia's equitable distribution statute. Bill history is searchable on the Virginia Legislative Information System at lis.virginia.gov.

"Five-state practice is not a marketing claim. It is a docket reality. The clients who hire us have lives, families, businesses, and exposures that do not fit inside one set of state borders — and they deserve representation that does not, either."
§ 02 — Jurisdictional coverage

Five state bars. One standard of representation.

When the charges, the parties, or the witnesses are spread across the Northeast corridor, you should not have to assemble a patchwork of strangers. Our bar admissions are listed below — in each state, our counsel appears in the courts where we are admitted.

§ 04 — What sets this firm apart

Six credentials we can document — each one source-traceable.

Bar advertising rules in Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia, New Jersey, and New York permit a firm to communicate only what it can substantiate. Below are six firm credentials that meet that standard. Each one is documentable.

i.

Legislative testimony on equitable distribution

Mr. Sris testified before the Virginia House Courts of Justice Committee in support of 2019 HB 635 (chief patron Del. David Bulova), which addressed Va. Code § 20-107.3(g). Bill history at lis.virginia.gov.

ii.

Former prosecutors on the defense side

Another of our attorneys is also a former prosecutor. Kristen M. Fisher, Of Counsel, is a Former Maryland Assistant State's Attorney. That prior service informs how we evaluate the other side's case.

iii.

Former Virginia State Trooper

Bryan Block, Of Counsel, served fifteen years as a Virginia State Trooper before becoming an attorney. He reads traffic and DUI cases through the eyes of the officer who wrote the citation.

iv.

Fourteen-year CPS contract attorney

Matthew Greene, Of Counsel, has served as a contract attorney for the City of Alexandria (Mr. Sris to confirm the contract is current before publishing; if it has ended, use "served" instead of "has served".) for fourteen years on CPS and child-welfare matters. Thirty-plus years of practice since 1994. JD The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law.

v.

A Ph.D. among our counsel

Samantha Rae Powers, Of Counsel, holds a J.D./M.A. from the University of Florida and a Ph.D. in Communication from UC Santa Barbara (2017) — a peer-reviewed researcher applied to negotiation and dispute resolution.

vi.

Intake staffed 24/7/365 · five languages

Our intake line is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Attorney consultations are scheduled by appointment in English, Spanish, Tamil, French, and Portuguese.

§ 05 — Our attorneys

We aim to assign each matter to a named attorney.

We aim to match each matter to a specific attorney rather than a rotating queue. Assignment is made based on the matter, the court, and the bar where you need counsel admitted.
