In a similar vein, my cousin was arrested at the protest at the Hofstra debate. Nassau police are idiots but I am so proud of him. I also feel woefully inadequate. I'd really love to single-handedly drive Florida's divorce rate sky high by marrying and divorcing weekly to make a mockery of Prop 2. If this 'sacred' institution can be abused at will by me, imagine what all those nasty gay people would do to it! They might spend $100 bucks on a license to marry anybody! A little boy! A dog! What's worse, they might actually be loving families! Oh the humanity! It's too bad that the cost to file for divorce is like 1/5 of my paycheck because I'd do it.

I'm really hoping to do NAGA while I'm up there too, but since I'm practically broke that may not happen. I'd rather spend the money on the Bronx Zoo or going to Renfaire. And I need to save train fare to go to NJ and see defectivecorpse and aclassicgetaway before he kills me.

I had a rather one-sided conversation about gay sex which segued itself into a conversation about the logistics of anal sex in general. And I *wasn't* the one doing the talking. I know I've always said how awesome it was to be close to the guys that I train martial arts with, but I think we've just reached a whole new level. I love them, but perhaps not that much.

I also rent random films just to watch Ewan McGregor kiss other boys.

The job search is getting a little bit better. I had decent interviews at Bath and Body Works and Charlotte Russe this week, and I've got one at BCBG/Max Azria tomorrow. Perhaps I would be happier in a regular 9-5 since it would allow me to train in the evenings but I'm not quite sure what I would do in an office. My teacher stopped giving morning classes due to poor attendance but Thiago Pitbull's school is close too and he teaches mornings if I get stuck with night shifts.

Hmmm...so much to do and nothing to get done.

My hand hurts from filling out job applications. It's so difficult to interview and tell a potential employer that you have plans to leave for 3 weeks in a month's time but reassure them that it's sooo worth it to hire me now. Although I'd be willing to cancel the trip (which is to help pack up my grandparents' house...and maybe attend a grappling competition) if need be to get the Assistant Manager position at Hot Topic.

I just need to do damage control on my application. I was handing in other applications around the mall and dressed appropriately-- read: white floral sundress with blazer and hip pink purse, aka-- not Hot Topicesque, but I saw the "Hiring Management" sign and couldn't resist.

What additional skills do I bring to Hot Topic?

Sorry to my flist for not commenting much this month. I had a self-imposed restriction to prevent me from sitting on my butt all day but now I've got a neck injury that prevents me from doing anything more strenuous than that. Did I miss much?

I started out the week at 221, cutting weight just in case I got lumped in with the men's division. I was aiming for 199. I got to 205 before I decided I'd rather be have enough fuel to be able to focus on my final exams. Ended up weighing in at 208, only to end up with a woman who was 230. I lost on points. But it was a blast anyway.

And thank you Charles McCarthy for not butchering my name. Alexis...Bl...hm. And uh, Lena...mmph. Well...GIRLS MATCH! Too bad he put more effort into pronouncing our names than he did against Bisping.

Now I want pancakes.
