I started a blog on blogger the other day to see what it was like. So far it's pretty cool. They have an option to post the blog on your own site if you've got one. They also let you edit the code in your template, so I'm gonna do some clever stuff with that. Something along the lines of generating images with PHP. Google also has this cool program called Picasa that organizes your pictures. You can send your pictures to GoogleBot through a program at hello.com. GoobleBot then posts the pictures in your blog. That is way cooler than the picture abilities of LiveJournal. I am also going to investigate using my HTML parser to web scrape blogger blogs. This will be interesting if I even get around to doing it. SproutWorks Blogger BlogCurrent Mood: accomplished

My boot drive has always been terribly fragmented. I've run a few defrag programs on it, but they never fix it. I was on download.com and they had an ad for diskeeper 9, and I thought I'd try it out. I downloaded and installed the professional edition trial. I analyzed my boot drive. First it says my biggest problem is that I only have 3 gigs free on my 120G drive. They say I should have at least 20G free. I figured it would say that. It also said my file access could be 3 times faster if they werern't fragmented. I had about 35,000 fragmented files. I had around 45,000 when I ran o&o defrag on it a little while ago.
I let it run for about 3 hours, and it ended up with 22,000 fragmented files. I don't know why every Windows defrag program I've tried will not defrag all my files. I used to use diskwarrior to defrag my old PowerMac, and it could defrag everything. It even grouped different file types together to make things run faster. The color coded map it had would end up being a nicely sorted array of colors.
Not so for the Windows defrag. They always leave thousands of files fragmented. What a drag.
Anyway, after I finished defragging, it said my master file table was in 4000 pieces. I turned on boot time defragmentation so it could work on that. I also clicked the option to run chkdisk first.
restart...
As it turns out, chkdisk had to run for 4 hours. I went to bed... only to lie there for 2 hours unable to sleep. When I came back, chkdisk was at 60%. That was around 5:30 am. It is now almost 9 am, and chkdisk has finished. Diskeeper boot-time defragmentation tool is running. It has been stuck on 99% for the last 20 minutes. I'm thinking of canceling it, since it may have gotten confused.
In the meantime, I've been working on my laptop, erasing stuff, and I'm also going to defrag this once I can use my other computer again. |

A couple weeks ago, I got a digital camera. It's a Canon PowerShot S1 IS, and it's the first decent camera I've ever owned. I selected it mostly because it has a 10x optical zoom lens with image stabilization. It also records pretty good movies. I've taken about 550 pictures with it so far.
I haven't really gone anywhere special to take some pictures yet. I'm thinking about going to the wild animal park.
About a week ago, I was reading through some journals on here, and came across an amazing deal. Dreamhost.com had a special for the first 777 people. Web hosting for 77 cents a month for a year! The account is their "crazy domain insane" account, which has 800M of space, 3 domains, PHP, and MySQL. I couldn't pass this up, and signed up a few minutes later. I also got a free domain name, which I named sproutpics.com. I'm using it to showcase the pictures I've taken. Current Mood: creative

I am so clever, I modified the background image so that it will change each time you reload the page. I would like to do some more tweaking, but I need a paid account to do that... oh well. Current Mood: accomplished

I haven't written in this journal in quite some time. Probably because I put most of my writing on my own website. I designed my own journal system and gads of other nifty stuff, so I can customize whatever I want. I started adding some javascript to fetch data live from my server, so the page can update itself and whatnot. I intend to write a whole threaded message board system that downloads new messages without having to relead the whole page. Should be much cooler than a traditional message board.
I got Doom 3 a couple weeks ago. It is the most awesome game I've ever played, but I don't play it as much as I should because my computer is falling behind the times. I've got a dual Athlon 1900, 512M ram, and a GeForce4 Ti 4400 video card. If I got a new video card, such as a GeForce 6 series, Doom 3 would run a lot better.
I got a gmail account. I don't know what to do with it but at least I finally have one. Gmail uses a lot of javascript tricks to bridge the gap between a web app and a desktop app. I like the spell checker, and I might try to write my own spell checker that is similar.
Today I had a dream that I found my old Apple IIe. My Apple IIe was the first computer I had, which I got for Christmas when I was 10. I got started with programming using the built-in Apple BASIC. After I had graduated to a Macintosh, my mother gave away my Apple, along with all the floppies containing my video games, programs I wrote, and artwork I made. There went all of my earliest digital creations, which are probably destroyed by now.
I discovered fat-pie.com, which is my favorite flash animator now. These cartoons are quite demented. I also started programming my own flash development tool that should help me design some cool animated widgets. Current Mood: tired

I added yahoo smiley's to my site. It was a relatively simple thing to do. I also made a program that plots pictures in a circle, another simple thing to do. Last night I fixed some bugs in my scripts and got new gear images from Shiloh to put on the site. Today I added a new paypal button to the site. I want Shiloh to make a cool design for it.
That was yesterday and I didn't post. Check out

Well, today I had a meeting with my therapist. That went okay. I got a new supply of meds. They aren't working. I am very frustrated and have no energy. I lie in bed and wish someone's hands were on me. I hate this lonliness. I just want someone to love me. I find myself having many fantasies about being with people. I always feel isolated. I go into chat rooms and hope I will meet someone new, and that they will accept me. Why can't I have a relationship? I want someone to care for me. I feel unwanted and alone. I cannot even write about how I feel, this is not acceptable. What should I do?
I need to add my site to yahoo and googles' directories. The power is off at the moment and I am using the down time to write this on my laptop. I wanted to write about my feelings and whatnot, but it is not happening very well. I just wrote a little about how sexually frustrated I am, and that inside my mind is a continous loop of longing to be with certain people. That does not do my thoughts justice. I wish I had some better way to convey myself. I feel very uneasy. I can't fall asleep without wanting to embrace Nicky, and having many thoughts about her a girls in general. I wonder what she is doing out there somewhere, and that just upsets me more.
I hear Kurt Cobain's voice from some song "what is wrong with me". This laptop is shitty and it only has an hour of power left. I hope the power comes back on soon. Wow I haven't got much written. I am an idiot, when it comes to literary self expression.

I added some basic event handler methods to the formBuilder class I wrote to build forms based on my custom designed GUI widgets. That was pretty basic hack. Now I need to go through my UI code and replace all the button handlers with this formbuilder code. Not too fun.
