Springers make the difference

The Springers are a team of bright, creative people who prefer a view of the sea to a view of the Thames. Their mix of talent, experience and perspective is what makes the difference for us and our clients. Some have been here for more than a decade, others joined more recently, all bring something valuable.

Creative Director

I joined Spring in 2009 as a Junior Designer, straight from my degree at Norwich School of Art, and in my 13 years at Spring I have had the pleasure of working across a broad range of sectors from high-end hospitality to national utilities. Spring’s multi-sector, multi-disciplinary approach has given me the opportunity to collaborate with incredibly ambitious people, brave enough to challenge themselves and their industries to think differently.

For me, the difference between good work and great work is the power of the idea that ties it all together. You can only have great ideas if you work with insights, not assumptions; an in-depth understanding of what you do, why you do it and the challenges you face inspire me to create work that is uniquely you.

Now as Creative Director and Co-owner of Spring I’m privileged to lead our exceptional team into a new era and to start everyday with a swim in the sea (even in the winter)!

I lead the strategic direction at Spring, and I’ll work with you to turn insight into commercially sound decisions. I’ve owned businesses since 2004 and worked in senior corporate roles so I understand the realities of growth, pressure and accountability. I work with senior leaders to dig deep into their business and make sure our thinking supports clear objectives.

Outside work, I have a passion for brands with heritage. I ride a Triumph Bonneville and have always been a follower of motorcycle culture and racing. It might seem a strange mix but that same appreciation carries into my 35-year battle with golf too. With both of these as I get older, I realise I’m really an old school purist with a contemporary taste, appreciating brands that respect their roots while moving things forward!

I bring over 20 years’ experience across brand, design direction and creative problem solving to my role at Spring. I like to take pressure off clients by joining the dots, asking the right questions, and guiding your project clearly from start to finish.

I’m big on detail, process and understanding how an organisation works across teams and departments. That insight helps me work as an extension of your team and turn complex challenges into clear, effective creative work. I love seeing that work come to life, whether it’s on a Tesco shelf, the wall of a national centre for dance, or in the hands of an artisan baker.

Alongside my role at Spring, I’m passionate about skate and surf culture, both of which have shaped how I see the world. They’ve taken me to diverse cities and cultures, sparked my love of brand design, and shown me what good looks like. That exposure has helped me adapt design styles to reflect different brand personalities and create clear, meaningful creative work.

I work across client services and project delivery with care and creativity, focused on making what we do for you work genuinely performs as well as it looks.

With a career spanning agency life, in-house marketing roles and running my own business, I’ve plenty of experience juggling multiple priorities, managing complex projects and building trusted relationships to make sure we consistently deliver great work for our clients.

Outside of work, I’m a proud boy mum who thrives on outdoor adventures. Completing a self-build with my partner was the ultimate test of my project management skills (and patience). Curiosity and a love of adventure shape both my work and home life, with just enough chaos to keep me on my toes.

With a background working with global organisations and brands, I joined Spring in 2022 to be more than just a designer and move beyond making things that simply look good, but focus on work that actually means something for our clients.

I believe that good design isn’t about ticking boxes or following rules, but more about understanding people, asking the right questions, pushing boundaries and finding ways to make something beautifully effective.

Not held back by industry or output, I lead on projects from insight-led web design to characterful illustrative animations and everything in between. All whilst bringing the same approach of exploration and curiosity to elevate good design into something truly memorable. I aspire to create ideas that cut through the noise and stick with people. The ones that feel effortless, but are anything but.

Off the clock, you’ll find me exploring forests by day and singing my lungs out to my favourite bands in crowded arenas and sticky basements by night. That passion for music making the job of curating the office playlist both a privilege and, without question, the toughest brief I’ve been given.

I’m responsible for planning and managing delivery of your brand, marketing, and design projects. I’ll work with you at every stage to connect you with our team and keep everyone aligned from start to finish, ensuring the final product is delivered on time and in the most effective way.

I love collaborating with such a mix of exciting brands and organisations, as well as the talented team here at Spring. Every day and every project is different, and being part of creating special work that delivers real value for our clients gives me a true sense of job satisfaction.

Outside of Spring, I like to reset by going on long walks, reading or crocheting, and I travel whenever I can to experience new places and make memories. I’m naturally organised and calm, which carries into both my work and hobbies – I’m happiest when creating, exploring, or planning the next adventure.

In an age when the same AI slop is being churned out everywhere you look, having copy that is original and written from a point of insight is vital if you want to stand out from your competitors. It’s my role at Spring to create that for our clients. I also help you find your tone of voice, so the way you communicate is just as consistent and unique as your visual identity.

To me great writing gets the right message across in the most effective way. Finding the voice and the right words, then putting it all together in a way that completely engages the reader to achieve your goal, that’s both the art and the science.

Away from work I lead a children’s group at my church, and play in the band. I’ve also recently racked up 40 years training in Ju Jitsu, and continue to teach it to adults and juniors two nights a week.

Creativity has been my entire personality since I was a tot, so naturally, I had a very clear career path.

Great design is defined by the experience it creates for the consumer, and I’m passionate about using it to create meaningful work for our clients in a way which can be understood without boundaries. Bringing my duality of inventive thinking and chronic organisation to Spring lets me fully explore ideas while keeping the details neat and the process tight. The result is creative and original work that exceeds the brief and helps you get ahead of the competition.

The extra Spring-kle within my work is my illustration background. I have always walked the line between illustrator and graphic designer, and that’s still the unique divide I like dancing on today.

Outside, you’ll catch me having a natter at a local coffee shop, gaining inspiration from creative print design or hurling myself down a freshly graded red run!

Digital Marketing Manager

It’s my job to combine analytical expertise with creative thinking in a way that produces content to get measurably excellent results for our clients.

For over 12 years I’ve been developing and delivering Social and Paid Media strategies for both B2B and B2C audiences, across a range of markets and sectors. I’m a self-confessed data nerd, and love digging into the numbers to uncover smarter ways to grow brand presence and performance, to get you the results you want.

Outside of work, I spend most of my time exploring with my husband and little girl. When I get a rare moment off parent duty, you’ll find me watching a film, building Lego, gaming with friends or curled up with a good book… usually in my pyjamas.

I bring nearly 20 years of marketing strategy experience to Spring, which I use to help our clients achieve their goals. My background is in local media, so I’ll always have a soft spot for print, and I combine this with my passion for digital marketing and communication, to create fully integrated customer journeys

It’s my role to gain insight into your organisation, understand your objectives, and then use Spring creativity and knowledge to build a clear, commercially-focused strategy which will achieve those goals. It’s incredibly satisfying – seeing it come to life and your targets met by the team is the bit I love most.

Away from the studio, I’m chief taxi driver to the two smaller Jones’ and occasional supplier of branded goods. When I get a bit of time to myself, you’ll find me expanding an already excessive trainer collection, making my house look like it deserves its own Instagram account, or scrolling the latest social trends… strictly for research purposes, of course.

My job at Spring sees me manage the financial performance of the business, helping to bring clarity to the business. I work closely with you to ensure finances run smoothly on both sides, providing clear and accurate commercial statements and updates which support clients in forecasting and managing their own cashflows.

I joined Spring as a Data Manager, after taking a break from work to raise my three girls, but it wasn’t long before I moved to Financial Manager, bringing skills and experience gained over 20 years working as Finance Manager for regional accounting firms.

When I’m not working, I spend quality time with my grandson, which keeps me active and very much on my toes!

I manage all things web related at Spring, from maintaining our clients’ websites to building new sites on a multitude of platforms.
With over a decade of experience in web design and development I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, ranging from small brochure websites to large data driven systems. I’m a keen believer in attention to detail and working with the client to understand their needs to drive the outcome of the website.
I enjoy taking pixel-perfect designs and transforming these into functioning websites that scale well across devices and allows our clients to manage their content. It’s a great feeling to push a website live and be part of a team to deliver tailored solutions time and time again.
Outside work I am a keen cyclist and love to seek adventure in the rolling countryside and quiet lanes, whether on or off road.
