Threefold Yes Consulting
Threefold Yes is a dynamic leadership development and consulting firm founded by Mike Eppehimer, a former healthcare executive and improv performer and co-led with Margaret Shen O’Dwyer, a social entrepreneur and experience designer. The company offers a unique blend of executive coaching, team development, and organizational change services, infused with principles from improvisation.
Project Goals
While Threefold Yes had established a strong reputation through word-of-mouth and networking, their online presence didn't fully capture the energy and distinctive approach of their work. They needed a website and brand identity that would:
- Clearly communicate their unique "threefold" methodology
- Showcase their blend of professional expertise and improvisational creativity
- Appeal to high-level executives while still feeling approachable and innovative
- Facilitate lead generation and program sign-ups
Logo and Branding
Mike and Margaret wanted a new brand identity that better represented Threefold Yes, but hoped to retain aspects of their former logo so the new branding would still be recognizable to their past clients. We explored various ways of doing this, and quickly realized that the triangle and the color scheme were the most important parts to incorporate in the new logo, since the triangle represents the Threefold Yes approach and the blue and orange color scheme keeps it familiar.
As part of the exploration, we discovered a ripple motif to be the perfect visual representation of the ongoing effects that working with Threefold Yes has on individuals, teams, and organizations. The final logo showcases an orange triangle with a ripple reflection, enclosed in a blue circle with a clean and minimal logotype.
A Familiar Aesthetic
We designed the website to mimic a whiteboard, complete with hand-drawn elements and "sticky notes." This visual metaphor represented the collaborative, iterative nature of Threefold Yes's work. Threefold had a mix of images of various quality from their workshops over the years, but we needed to supplement with stock imagery as well. We added semi-transparent rectangles over many of the images in order to provide consistency in quality and branding, as well as to soften the difference between the stock photos and their original images.
A Robust Course Library
A key feature of the new site was the integrated workshop library, showcasing both in-person trainings and on-demand online courses. This comprehensive resource allowed users to browse, register, and pay for workshops directly through the website, while seamlessly integrating with Threefold Yes's Teachable platform for online learning. The library's intuitive interface makes it easy for clients to find and access the right learning opportunities for their needs, whether live or on-demand.
“I can't say enough about the great experience of working with Chris and the team at Spacious. They are easy to work with and create an exceptional work product - and, most importantly, they take the time to understand your business goals and have a solid process for helping you to tell your story.”
After launch, Mike commented that one of his longtime friends saw the website and commented, “Now I finally understand what you do!” To us, this is the best feedback we could hope for. A good website tells a story and makes abstract concepts feel digestible and clear. It’s not hard to build a pretty website—designing a compelling, strategic message that resonates with your audience is the hard work that really matters.
