About Sp5der: How It All Started

The Atlanta rapper, Young Thug (Jeffery Lamar Williams), founded Sp5der in 2019. He wasn't merely him marking somebody else's clothesline with his name. It's a brand that he created from the ground up, inspired by his personal style, his music, and the street culture he grew up with in Atlanta.

The first drop was a campaign called "8 Days of Spider" which was launched and ran from December 2019 to January 2020. New pieces were sold every day for 8 days, and there was no advertising and billboard used and all the pieces sold out. It was spread through social media, music videos and word of mouth. Pour rappers, athletes began to wear it out of their own enthusiasm, and not for the purpose of being paid for it.

The company is currently based in Los Angeles and Young Thug continues to be the man in charge of the creative. No outside investors or corporate boards. All of the things that you see from Sp5der are still under one creative vision; and that's what is making the brand look real even though there are so many others that look fake.
