Hello, children,

I will be your new History of Magic professor. You may call me Professor Kirkland. I'm sure that we're all quite grieved to hear about the retirement of the previous History of Magic professor, but I do hope you'll all warm to me soon enough.

Granted, I will be taking away what many of you considered to be your regularly scheduled naptime, but I'm sure that you'll find my choice in topics far more engaging than the previous professor's peculiar predilection toward goblin wars. I do not tolerate tardiness or laziness in my class.

That said, the reading for Monday will be the first three chapters in your textbooks.

My dear students...

As October has arrived, now seems the best time to start reminding you of the special event I offer on Halloween night. Anyone who is interested may come to my classroom, where we will explore the darker side of creative writing, particularly poetry. We will read and write about the morbid and mysterious, this year with a particular emphasis on the poems of Edgar Allan Poe.

While this is far from a requirement, I think you would all benefit from it greatly.

What do fourth years do exactly? What are their responsibilities? I mean, moving on up from a third year to a fourth year is a pretty big change wouldn't you say?

Man, I did not study as hard as I should've for these exams. But you know how it goes, right? You sit down to study, and then you realize "oh hey, those nails could really use painting", and then you do that. But then you realize it could use just a little more sparkle, so you break out the glitter... And then you look at them toes and it's like, Oh snap they could really use some colour, and then the time, it just gets away from you!

So I was wondering, maybe some of you would like to start a study group? Y'know, we could exchange notes, and ideas, and maybe some hair care tips studying tips?
