Politics, religion, bleh

On Facebook someone was quoting Psalm 94 (“How long, O Lord, shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked exult?”) and it got me thinking about this song.

(words start at about 1:20)

Lord, what a thoughtless wretch was I,
To mourn, and murmur, and repine,
To see the wicked placed on high,
In pride and robes of honor shine.
But, oh, their end, their dreadful end,
Thy sanctuary taught me so,
On slipp’ry rocks I see them stand,
And fiery billows roll below.

I have a (bad?) habit of falling back on religious sources for echoes about serious topics. I grew up with this stuff, and it’s in my head for better or worse, I guess. And using Star Trek or fantasy novels instead would arguably be worse. Anyway, this is what I’ve got right now.

The world has been around for a long time, bad things have happened, and we’ve gotten through them. Nothing stays the same forever.
