Night had fallen as if there had never been a sun. The heat of the day suddenly vanished as if it had never been. Though the chorus of birdsong had rung through the trees with vibrant life and energy, now a hush rose over the forest as if some great weight suddenly pressed down, trapping and suffocating all life amongst the trees. Any living creature would have noticed the sudden change in an instant and you were no different. You had not heeded the warnings of the villagers in the town outside the Forest of Balor, thinking yourself immune to whatever superstitious nonsense those fools spouted. Now it was clear that there was indeed something having an effect, the very air vibrating with an invisible energy that pulsed as if some giant heart throbbed with energy just below the ground.

The party of hunters you had followed continued to stalk forward, still as yet unaware of you having slinked behind them in their wake, their progress now thunderous in the sudden deafening silence of the forest. Though the majority of the party was made up of experienced trackers and headhunters, it made no difference now as a pin dropping would have seemed an explosion in that void of nothingness. The silence ate sound like a soon-to-be-dead creature, days without water who suddenly had droplets of rain cascading down its shriveled form.

Suddenly glancing around, you notice the clearing you seemed to have stumbled into the trees behind seeming to press you forward as if beckoning you toward the only path leading out, but not the path you took to get here...and now you felt extremely uneasy. No other choice before you, your footsteps take you slowly toward the path and with a start, you notice there is a continuous incline as you continue on. Another curious thing you begin to notice is the temperature of the air, getting warmer by the minute. As you step forward cautiously, not daring to breathe you begin to notice trees laying on their side, having been brought down by…something, you don't know what, split at the trunk as if that same something had ripped them down, long furrows in the ground where it had ripped the soil with reckless abandon. Smoldering patches where grass or trees once stood, smoking still as if bouts of fire had spring unbidden from the ground, consuming everything in their path, filled the air with the natural stench of burnt wood. Then you heard it. A shout. Then another. A roar! Then…BOOM! The cacophonous sound of some sort of explosion that ripped apart the air as if torn apart by some invisible pair of hands vibrated through the trees, blasting you to the ground.

Stunned, after a long moment your heart began to beat again, your breath coming in gulps of air as you unsteadily rose to your feet. Hurrying forward, you come to the edge of the clearing, not showing yourself yet peering out between the undergrowth to see what has disturbed the total silence of before. Eyes widening with shock as you notice furs of almost every kind surrounding a black mass of...something...in the center of the even larger clearing beyond the one you are standing in. Each fur surrounding the mass held a weapon and a fur seemingly in command directed the others with a shout and a gesture as they tried to get at whatever it was. Then you realize it was a fog of some sort, a black cloud of vapor hiding what was inside of it, the hunters prodding at the vapor and shooting into it every once in a while with a crack and a thunderous report of a flintlock gun. Suddenly with a cry of dismay, as a hunter thrust in a long object, it seemed to stick into something solid and he was pulled into the center of the fog, his cries going silent. A fur who was constantly unloading shots into the mist was suddenly struck with a bolt of lightning that arched out of the darkening sky and without a sound from his surprised face, he was vaporized in an instant. Others fell or were dispersed in other ways until the clearing was free except for the leader, an enormous grizzly bear, one of the largest furs you had ever seen, laughing deeply while holding his twin blades at the ready.

"Come on and show yourself! We both know how this is going to end, with me making armor from your hide!" The grizzly chuckled, quite sure of himself even after having witnessed the gruesome deaths of his comrades. His smile faltered slightly when he heard a voice.

A deep voice, quite rich and smooth, like velvet running across titanium that seemed to emanate from everywhere at once, "Very well. You are quite brave to ask for something beyond your most fearsome nightmares."

Just as suddenly as the voice spoke, the mist dispersed and what remained behind was a dragon, black as night and larger than any known specimen you had ever seen! It absolutely dwarfed the grizzly, making him almost seem laughable by comparison.

The grizzly's smile slowly slid off of his face, clearly expecting something different as he readjusted his grip on the blades. With a soft whisper he spoke to the magnificent dragon, "Tharamir Nararinthian...I should have guessed. A scourge upon the land and a being more powerful than legends can predict."

With a chuckle the dragon answered, "Quite right you are. Yet you stand your ground? Credit to your bravery or perhaps your stupidity?" He smiled, straightening to his full height which towered well above the grizzly who stood at a massive 7 feet himself!

The grizzly circled the dragon, the dragon in kind turning with him as with a sharp intake of breath you notice something about the dragon: He is the most gorgeous male you have ever seen! His long snout bears a smile that, despite the circumstances, seem to beckon and tell you that this is a creature completely harmless. That smile would be the end of a fur no doubt as it even extended to the eyes, pure gold in color that shone with a powerful light seeming to draw in whomever looked into them as if he was looking into your very soul, stripping you to the bone, knowing everything about you in an instant.

His physique was even more impressive than his smile or even his eyes, his thick neck rippling with muscle supported upon well defined shoulders that shifted and rolled with each movement of his arms that were thick and sinewy, the cut and toned muscles of the arms shifting and flexing as he opened and closed his clawed hands slowly as if waiting to strike out at the grizzly. His chest was mouthwatering to say the least, his powerful pecs shifting and expanding with each intake of breath, his 8-pack abdominal muscles rolling and quivering slightly. As he turned his massive wings opened and closed, folding against his back, the muscles there so ripped and defined by the amount of flying he must do every day. The musculature of the back seemed to point downwards, leading your eyes 'south' to the whip-like tail that lashed back and forth, moving like a powerful snake as it weaved in and out of his legs, entwining around his body and thrashing and shifting behind him as if it had a mind of its own, the 6 foot length thick and powerful, made entirely of muscle leading to the fact that being hit or wrapped up in that would not end well. Despite the tense circumstances your eyes then, having rested on the tail, were shifted to the rump of the creature which again despite you holding your breath made your heart skip a beat as with each move of his legs his rear moved as well, so cut and toned it called as if longing to be caressed.

Turning even as the grizzly sought for an opening your eyes were drawn to the crotch, the black leather shorts, for that was all he wore, straining visibly as the massive bulge there lead you to believe that this male was completely Alpha in every way. His legs were thick and powerful, clawed talons much like those of a raptor making not a sound which would be another feat of danger, not being able to hear him sneaking up on you. The only coloring on the male were the golden eyes, the pure silver claws, teeth and surprisingly the tongue as the long muscle ran along the line of his lips as he licked them as if he was savoring the taste of the present mood. Cracking his neck slightly, the mane running from his forehead back to the base of his neck also showed a hint of silver, as the center was streaked with silver complimenting the silver horns that ran straight up on either side of the mane. His whole body was so clearly muscled and defined it was as if velvet had been stretched taught across metal, knowing that the skin of a dragon was almost impenetrable and nearly impossible to have any effect upon.

The grizzly then made his move, seeming to have waited long enough as with a growl he charged forward his swords flashing. As the twin lengths of steel moved with a blur, the male grizzly moved in close, the lethal lengths almost seeming like they would come in contact with the dragon yet the smile on the great creature never faltered from his maw. The dragon simply waited, oozing with confidence, allowing the grizzly and his swords to draw close. A sudden flash of black and his tail moved faster than you thought possible, knocking a blade spinning away, sinking the metal deep into a tree to the hilt of the blade. With a snarl, the grizzly wasted no time in whipping the last blade around toward the dragon's side, and with a roar of triumph, hit.

The roar died on his lips as the length of the blade hung suspended in the air, caught on the armored forearm of the male dragon, though with a closer look, the blade actually remained trapped, held fast in the dragon's hand! Steam suddenly began to rise from his nostrils, the temperature of the area becoming almost unbearable as with a wink at the grizzly, the dragon snapped the blade as if it were made of wood, knocking the useless hilt from the ursine's hand.

With a roar of fury, the grizzly charged forward, teeth bared and claws flashing, caution now thrown to the wind even when the dragon's horns began to glow, his once brilliant golden eyes now shining bright white. A ball of blue energy formed, crackling, in the dragon's palm as he lifted it eye level, suddenly launching it without warning at the grizzly who charged inches from his form. The ursine's roar cut off instantly, the ball of energy lancing across his body, consuming him and with a loud “Crack!" he was no more.

Smiling wide, he turned his gaze to you without any hint of surprise as if he had known you were there the whole time.

With a roguish wink, he spoke directly to you, once again with that erotic, deep and rich voice like molten chocolate was dripping down your body, "Well it seems like I have an audience. My name is Tharamir. Might I have the pleasure of yours?"

This last question was spoken with a soft whisper now fluttering in your ear. Blinking, you noticed two things, one, that he was no longer in the clearing, and two, that the whisper in your ear had come from the dragon's mouth which was impossible. Impossible except for the fact that his form pressing into your own from behind left you in quite a compromising position.

Your throat was suddenly very dry, words dying even before they could spring from your lips.
