Kael Garrison was a human before he was involuntarily transformed into an anthropomorphic dragon. He has no memory of who he was before the transformation; when he was being prepared for the procedure, his mind was artificially wiped clean of virtually every memory he had prior to waking up in an underground, sterilized room. His story is still being developed, but the current line of thinking has him as a superhero of sorts.

His scales are composed of a biological compound that has both the materials of a regular scute and a substance called corundum, or aluminum oxide. One of the hardest substances on earth, it also has a high melting point which allows it to heat up without experiencing structural failure.

He also has two sacs tucked away in the back of his mouth that when activated shoot out two liquids that combine in mid-air and ignite upon contact, creating a fireball that propells outward. While not particularly hot or long-lasting, it does serve its purpose, whether it creates a distraction or is used to make a campfire.

He has no wings because it required too large a change in his biology. What was done to him was only possible because all the basic components were there. (i.e. bones, muscles, etc.) It takes less effort to mold one thing into a different form than it does to create something new entirely. He compensates for this by using artifical means of flight, which will be introduced later.
