Once a mighty sorcerer.....It had been almost a year since a botched summoning had stripped away his powers and transported him to this strange, primitive world with it's oddly sentient animal life.....He spent much time hiking from one town to the next with only a few scavenged supplies and his staff (Once a mighty tool of sorcery, now little more than a fancy stick) speaking to wizards and scientists, great dragons and darker things best left unmentioned as he sought a way home....
Unbeknownst to our wandering hero, his magic is not gone, simply inaccessible in this world.... during his time here his inability to use magic has caused a strange surge in the part of his spirit where such magics are normally stored... It's continuing to put energy away despite being full to capacity, the longer he goes stuck in this world with no arcane release, the longer the magic builds up within him..... Potentially at some point it may well grow to the point where the mage is in danger of spontaneous combustion or the like... In the interim he shines like a beacon to succubi and other beings that feed on life force as well as to any magic/force/chi/ki/etc user that might take a moment to look at him with senses beyond the norm.
