The new couple after making sure Topaz’s gift was back in her room headed out on Nicholas’s car. You could see how happy the two foxes were to be together at last. The vulpine drove the two into town just like what had been done before. The male and female went into any store that caught their interest and when it came time for something to eat, ate at a local place. Nicholas couldn’t help but notice the looks of jealous and envy the other males sent towards him and Topaz. That same growl of protection and possession from before came out occasionally as he moved closer to her with his tail around the vixen. Showing them that Topaz was his girl only.
But other than that the date went well. The foxes drove back and he walked her to her room, paw in paw. When they got there, Topaz threw her arms around her boyfriend. “Oh my gosh!” she squealed. “I like had so much fun with you!”
“I’m glad,” he responded and hugged his girlfriend back. The male pulled back to look deep into the female’s eyes. “Topaz.”
“Yes?” she whispered.
“I want you to know from here on out I don’t care what happens. I want to be with you. No matter how dangerous the missions are, no matter how many of the enemy there is, I will be there to protect you and watch out for you. And not send you away. I promise.”
“Oh Nicholas…” Topaz cooed and kissed him on the cheek. “You’re really like my knight in shining armor…”
“Then I will be that. Because you’re my beautiful princess.” It made the female smile deeply to herself.
“Then can you say it to her again? Please?”
“As many times as you want,” Nicholas responded. “I love you…”
“As I love you…” The vulpine took the vixen’s paws into his own.
“Goodnight…”
“Goodnight..” Both leaned in to kiss but didn’t want to let go. After a few moments it became a make out season. Topaz’s arms went around his strong neck while his went around her petite waste, holding the other closer. Their mouths and tongues fought against the other. After some minutes the foxes pulled back, gasping for breath. Nicholas kissed Topaz’s throat, causing her to giggle.
“You’re incredible, you know that?”
The vixen giggled again. “So are you…” After one more quick kiss goodnight, the couple left each other for the day.
Two days was all it took for the rest of the group to learn of this. The others were happy for the youngest members and could see it in Nicholas and Topaz’s eyes. But also saw a resolve in their training to get even stronger. So they could protect the one they loved.
Halloween quickly came up which brought some excitement. Onyx and Granite took Alexander and Victoria out Trick or Treating since they were still old enough. But the rest of the group including Mendoza, Slappy, Walter, and Integera had their own little Halloween party. Jade of course had the sexiest costume as a succubus but only did flirting with Paul. However undoubtedly the cutest couple there was Topaz and Nicholas. The vulpine had dressed as a knight complete with sword while the vixen was a princess. As part of their act the male swore his eternal service and love to her before kissing his girlfriend on the cheek, causing the female to giggle and hug him.

It then turned to November. During the second day of the month Diamond contacted the group because it was time to take on the next lieutenants of V.I.L.E. and S.P.E.C.T.R.U.M.E. again. “Hello Canines and Vixens,” stated the leader of F.U.T.U.R.E. on the monitor. “Open your folders now.” The spies did so. “Your mission this time is to head to China and stop the next two lieutenants. Good luck, and God speed.” The monitor turned off. Like mentioned by the last two this time it was Furious Fuchsia and The Panda King.
The first guy was a red panda ninja. Apparently he had been banished from his clan in Japan, and swearing vengeance had joined up with the other in China. The second guy had more info on his back ground. Born penniless, he was fascinated by the fireworks rich noble men set off every New Years. He spent a decade learning the art. But when he tried to offer his fireworks to the noblemen, they couldn’t see pass his shabby cloths, and chased him away. Humiliated, the Panda King took revenge on those who shunned him, by using the very tools of his art for crime. V.I.L.E. recruited him as their demolitions expert, and from then on, his explosive touch became feared world wide. As of now, the only known fact was that the two were either near or somewhere in the Kunlun Mountains.
“So will I get a shot at them this time?” asked Emerald to Nicholas once everyone had finished read the information.” The vixen looked hopeful. “I’m sure James and I can handle it.”
“You could if it was just The Panda King,” responded the vulpine with glasses. “But my main worry is Furious Fuchsia. If he really is a ninja, you and James wouldn’t stand a chance. I’m sorry, but I think Jade and Paul would be the best bet to handle him.” Seeing her disappointed look, Nicholas couldn’t help but smile. “I promise the next one you and James can help me and Topaz with.”
“Great, so in the meantime, how are we suppose to locate them?” asked Sapphire.
“Actually I think I know of a place we can go to operate at,” Nicholas answered. “It’s a good opportunity to visit a place I trained at for nine months. The place where I learned the Kaze Movement.” This got everyone’s attention. “It will be good to visit my old master again along with the others who live there. And who knows? Maybe you’ll pick it up as well Jade.”
With that thought, the Vixens and Canines got ready. Little did they know that this would lead to something for Emerald and James and the beginning of something for Paul and Jade.

It was a smooth plane ride when the group got to their destination. It was the perfect time for Topaz and Nicholas to snuggle together even more. Of course the vulpine took time to tell stories of when he trained at the place the group was headed to. Apparently this was a place in the mountains nearby the target they wanted. So it would serve as the perfect place to start. “If I know them they may have heard about what is going on in the Kunlun Mountains,” stated Nicholas.
Eventually the plane landed safely and the canines plus the vixens were soon heading up a path that took them up to the mountains. It was a beautiful scenery and the air felt so clean and pure. Jade couldn’t help but smile. Although it wasn’t her home country of Japan, this would work to get some training in. “It’s nice to see that this hasn’t changed at all,” stated Nicholas.
“It’s such a quiet, peaceful place,” said Stanley.
“By the way, this is my first time being in China,” commented Ruby. “Is the place still a ways from here?”
“See that archway over there?” asked the long haired vulpine and pointed it out. “Beyond that there’s a bridge we have to cross. And we’ll find it there.”
It didn’t take long and soon the group found themselves at an entrance way that had the same crest from before that those who had seen Nicholas fight against Jade. They could see the mountain village bellow them. And standing in front of them was a dwarf, elderly, female red panda. She wore glasses and even smoked a small pipe. This new one looked up as everyone approached and her eyebrows went up.
Nicholas let out a chuckle. “Well, well. If it ain’t old lady Pinako. It’s been a long time. I was hoping I could speak with my master to help me out with something.”
“You’ve returned Nicholas; I knew you would someday,” replied the red panda. “I see you’ve brought quite a few friends this time.”
“Indeed. Although I think one of them is more than that.” Everyone else was introduced.
“You always had that ability to make friends easily,” said Pinako. “It’s nice to see that hasn’t changed.”
“Yeah, well, that’s one of my best points,” Nicholas replied.
“Huh, yet it seems like you’ve gone and gotten weaker.” The red panda could clearly see this with some of the other guys who had bigger muscles. The long haired vulpine snapped and whipped his head to look and got even more pissed off.
“WHO ARE YOU CALLING WEAK YOU MINIATURE SIZED HAG?!”
The female snapped as well. “You’re weaker than your temper!”
“YOU’RE SO SHORT YOU’RE TWO DIMENSIONAL!”
“Baby sized arms!”
“MICRO MORON!”
Suddenly another female voice sounded out of nowhere. “Damn it Nicholas!” The said guy’s ears flicked as he heard the sound of something being thrown at him. The vulpine caught it with his right paw to reveal it was a small training sword about the size of knife made of wood. Everyone else looked in shock at this.
“How many times have I told you to call me before coming back here?!” They looked and could see another female red panda but this one was very pretty with short, black hair. She was perched in a tree by the entrance.
“Damn it Hotaru!” shouted Nicholas. “Are you trying to get me killed?!” The newcomer let out a happy laugh.
“Welcome back!”
“Yeah right…” grumbled the fox. “Welcome back my ass…” Topaz just looked at this new female with a bit of worry. It seemed this Hotaru knew her boyfriend quiet well.

The group was lead into the one of the buildings at the edge of the village. In there Hotaru was introduced to the group. However Nicholas stated that he would tell her and Pinako what had been happening latter when his master by the name of Sarutobi had time to see him since at the moment he was a bit busy. However even the two red pandas could tell how happy the vulpine was when stating who Topaz was and that it was his girlfriend.
“So you finally got one, huh?” commented Pinako. “I’m really happy for you.”
“And lucky,” replied Hotaru. “Although maybe not as much as me.”
“Huh?” asked the vulpine with long hair. “What do you mean? I think it’s more than luck I’ve hooked up with Topaz.” Those words touched the said vixen’s heart, causing her to looked at her boyfriend with love.
“Would you say the same for me who’s getting married?” said the younger red panda.
“Huh?!” Nicholas stated, all shocked. “You mean…?”
“Yes,” answered Hotaru. “I was going to invite you any day now but then you showed up with your friends. However it won’t take place yet. Not until we’ve dealt with the problem that has come up as of late.”
“You mean The Panda King and Furious Fuchsia,” replied the vulpine. The rest of the group knew that this village was a help to Diamond as had been explained by Nicholas. After all she had sent him here for training. So talking about the reason they were here wouldn’t be a problem.
“Yes, but… how did you know?” ask Pinako. She and Hotaru were quickly told.
“I see,” stated the older red panda. “That old Arctic Fox is still working hard to stop evil it would seems.”
Suddenly another came in stating that Sarutobi was ready for them. The group was lead away. In a clearing at the center of the village a male giant panda the same age as Pinako was playing a wooden flute, just mediating. Despite his looks he was quite strong and still a bit muscular. Suddenly his eyes opened as a rabbit and a student came running up. “Master!” stated the the first. “Nicholas has returned!”
“I thought it might be him,” replied the panda. “Ever since this morning I have sensed something that can only come from that vulpine. But it feels different this time. Like he has found inner peace.”
The group was soon assembled before Sarutobi. By the looks on most of their faces, they weren’t expecting a giant panda. Nicholas stepped forward and placed his right fist in his open left paw and bowed to the bear. “Master… It has been far too long.”
“It has Nicholas,” responded the panda and bowed in the same style. “I knew you would come back one day. I’ve seen you’ve brought many friends with you. Come, we have much to talk about.” The group was lead to a room nearby. There not only were the rest of the Canines and Vixens introduced, but a summary of what they had been up to, and why they were here. Sarutobi listened the whole time. During this the rest of the canines and vixens learned that Diamond had sent Nicholas here to get stronger in the first place and trained under this person.
When finished it was the panda that spoke. “What you’ve spoken has explained many things. Why you’re stronger and why you’ve seem to be more calm and at peace with the world Nicholas.”
“Yes master,” responded the vulpine. “Topaz here is the main reason. Falling in love with her is something I don’t regret. I was finally able to find inner peace as you told me to do so.”
“And yet what would happen if she becomes lost or at worst killed?”
“None of that will happen,” responded the fox with firmness. “Because I won’t let it happen.” She and the others couldn’t help but smile, the blonde hair vixen even more.
“I see that your resolve is set,” stated Sarutobi. He then turned to the rest of the group. “Do not think I’ve forgotten about you. It is an honor that you’ve come here. Especially Sapphire, Emerald, Kane, and Jade.”
“You know about me?” asked the Arctic fox.
“Of course. Even as isolated as we are, you’re famous here. And I for one know Jade quite well.”
“But we’ve never met,” stated the petite vixen.
“No, but your sensei and I have. We’re great friends and he’s told me much about you, young one.”
“He never told me that,” responded Jade, surprised by this.
“Your sensei never had a reason to which is why I imagine he kept silent about it,” explained the panda. “Now then, the question we should ask ourselves is what to do now.”
“Do you have any information about the Panda King and Furious Fuchsia master?” asked Nicholas. “We came here also since I thought you might have noticed something since you’re near the place they’re rumored to be at.”
“The winds have carried news of the evil that has settled in those mountains. I’ve sent some of the best there. However I don’t expect them to return in a little more than a week.”
“I see, so we’re stuck here for now,” responded the long haired vulpine.
“Well maybe we can like train or enjoy or time here,” suggested Topaz. “Maybe Mendoza can do some shots of us.”
“Seems to be the best option at the moment,” said Sarutobi. “Before the ones sent out come back a small tournament will be held. The annual one which you know about Nicholas. You and your friends are welcome to compete in it. But I mainly want you to do so to see how much you’ve grown.”
“I understand master,” the vulpine responded.
“Then let’s get all of you to your rooms.”
It didn’t take long and Nicholas ended up changing into cloths that were more worn around this area complete with his gloves. A black top that was sleeveless that had small red ties on the front and pants that matched. The rest stayed as they were. The first thing on the list was the photo shoot. Topaz and her boyfriend had a cute one as usual by having her dress in an outfit similar to the vulpine. He wrapped his arms behind his girlfriend and kissed her cheek, causing the vixen to squeal and giggle. It was to be mentioned that during the photo shoot somehow Emerald and James seemed to get a little closer than usual along with Paul and Jade. However nothing as of yet would come out of this.
The next day Nicholas and the petite vixen went to find Sarutobi. The female had discussed on learning the Kaze Movement while here. The found the panda meditating but he looked up when the younger species entered. “We’re sorry to disturb you master, but I’ve come here with a student for you,” stated the vulpine.
“What do you mean?” ask Sarutobi as the bear stood up.
“I wish to learn the Kaze Movement after seeing it being done by Nicholas,” explained Jade. The panda regarded the two for a long moment.
“Why do you desire it?”
“Well, I guess my main reason is to become stronger… than I am now. Even if I have to risk my life I’ll do it.”
“Your sensei was right about you and being eager,” stated Sarutobi. “Although I suppose I should teach you. It was him after all when he came some years before Nicholas arrived who gave me the idea for this technique. That’s why it’s called the Kaze Movement. Using the Japanese word for wind instead of the Chinese one. However unless you have the necessary speed, it’s futile to begin.”
“Maybe she already has,” Nicholas commented. “Master, the reason she saw me use it was because we fought against each other. And she was able to keep up with me for most of it. Jade might just be fast enough to learn this technique.”
“Is that so? Still it took even Nicholas a month to attain the technique and put it into battle. You to will have a month to achieve this Jade. If you cannot, you will die here.” The news was a shock to her. “You said after all that you would wager your life.”
“I did,” responded the vixen with a smirk. “But saying ‘you’ll die here’ is different. Okay, I’ll take up the training. But I can’t let myself die because of my friends. And we don’t have time to mess around training before those you sent out get back and the tournament. I don’t need a month! I’ll master the Kaze Movement in a week!”
A bit latter found Nicholas talking with Hotaru for a little while just one on one. At one point their talk became about Topaz. “I can see you’ve become quite a vulpine and wonderful warrior,” stated the female. “Although she may seem a bit like a klutz I can tell Topaz is a good vixen for you.”
“Wait, how did you know?” asked the vulpine.
“They say a male becomes great with a good female by his side. That’s why my soon to be husband is the best. Because I’m a good female.” The fox couldn’t help but smile at that.
The next day training began. For everyone in the group. Except for Aquamarine and Desmond who spent their time just exploring the village since that vixen wasn’t the combat type. However it was during this that Emerald and James would get a little closer. It all started when the vixen was at a place to work on punches and kicks on wooden targets that had rotating arms. She had practiced with some of the others who lived here and was told to practice on the targets. James suddenly appeared to see the female taking a breather. “You’re working hard,” he commented.
“James,” she replied, while blushing a bit. And wondering why it was happening. Even though Emerald knew the reason. But it caused conflict inside of her since that last ex-boyfriend.
“But you may want to loosen up a bit,” stated the German Shepard. Suddenly the female felt weak and began to fall back. A massive head rush had happened for Emerald indicating she needed a break. James easily caught her. “Or you will make me worry.”
The vixen’s eyes went wide with shock when she realized the position she was in and a massive blush took her face. “Let go of me…” Emerald growled slightly.
“Wait for it to pass.”
“Let go of me now.”
“Don’t get excited,” commented James in a bit of a teasing voice.
“James, being held by you is hardly enough to get me excited,” the vixen snapped. She was stood up by him.
“Sorry sweetheart. But I ain’t got time for anything else.” The male walked away with a smirk.
Jade in the meantime was still trying to get the Kaze Movement down. The vixen was panting and covered with sweat. “Damn,” she growled. “This isn’t working. I just can’t get it down.”
“To say is easy. To do is hard,” stated a voice. It was Sarutobi. “You know how difficult the Kaze Movement is. Are you beginning to think it’s impossible to learn in just a week?”
“I haven’t given up yet. I’ll look forward to you deciding… If I can do it or not in in the time I have left this week.”
“All right,” said the panda. “You have that. There are five days left. After that, if you still can’t do it… You’ll die.”
The days passed one by one. Everyone else couldn’t help but notice Jade working on this. “If anyone can do it, it’s her,” commented the Paul. But Sarutobi thought otherwise.
“The Kaze Movement is something that took even Nicholas a month to learn. To attain it with sheer determination alone will not be easy.”
Finally it became the sixth day and it was night time. Jade still had some left before dark really set in. “Ugh…” the vixen groaned. “Shit… I don’t know if I have anymore strength. I’m finished…”
“Jade…” went a voice. She looked up and was shocked to see her father and sensei standing before her.
“Wait… this can’t be. I must be dreaming of hallucinating…” Jade was too tired to care at the moment.
“It’s alright,” stated the older fox. “You’ve done enough my daughter. You’ve worked hard to master this technique. If you recognize defeat, you may have a chance to be spared from death. But if you force your body and spirit even more right now you might die.”
“Forget everything and rest,” commented the vixen’s teacher. “This is your sensei’s order.”
“I’m sorry father and sensei,” Jade responded. “But I can’t obey. For the sake of the one who opened my eyes, Paul, and the rest of my friends and team, I have to be strong now. Whether you two are a dream or phantoms I was glad to see both of you again.” The vixen picked herself off the ground and the images of the two others disappeared.
Morning came and Sarutobi along with Paul and Nicholas found the vixen. She was laying face up on a rock. “Dead from exhaustion,” stated the panda.
“No, I feel she’s alive,” commented the Corsac fox.
“You’re damn right I am,” went the voice of Jade causing all three males to jump. They saw her sit up. “I was tired and thought I’d grab a little sleep, that’s all.”
“But… It seems you haven’t mastered the Kaze Movement yet,” said Nicholas. The vixen smirked and stood up. Suddenly she moved and in that moment showed that she could do it like the long haired vulpine. Both him and Sarutobi were left in shock and their eyes went wide. “I figured it out just now. But once you get the hand of it, you could do it even before breakfast.”
“I don’t believe it…” whispered Nicholas. “You really got it down.”
“Truly, you have great talent…” said Sarutobi.
“Talent?” Jade repeated. “My life was on the line! Don’t end it with a word like that.”
“You’re right,” stated the panda. “I’m sorry. Let me rephrase. A great vixen.” He could tell that she was a changed person. Like when Nicholas left the first time. Jade was a mere chick, but now like a young bird leaving the nest. The next thing everyone knew was that the female began to fall. Paul rushed up and caught her.
“Seems she’s out cold again,” stated the male who held Jade. He cradled the petite vixen and kissed her forehead. “I’ll take her back to her room.”
The female slowly came to and found herself in the bed at the room she was staying at. “Hey, seems you’re awake.” Looking to her left saw Paul with a grin.
“Paul?” asked Jade and slowly sat up. “How long…?”
“Have I’ve been here and you’ve been out? A good number of hours. Don’t worry, you’ll have time to rest before the tournament which will happen in two days. I’ve stayed by your side the whole time you were knocked out.” Somehow his smile made the vixen blush. Which was odd to her. But that’s what Jade did with resting before the tournament. And spending time with Paul. This would however be interesting to say the least.

With that thought, the Vixens and Canines got ready. Little did they know that this would lead to something for Emerald and James and the beginning of something for Paul and Jade.

It was a smooth plane ride when the group got to their destination. It was the perfect time for Topaz and Nicholas to snuggle together even more. Of course the vulpine took time to tell stories of when he trained at the place the group was headed to. Apparently this was a place in the mountains nearby the target they wanted. So it would serve as the perfect place to start. “If I know them they may have heard about what is going on in the Kunlun Mountains,” stated Nicholas.
Eventually the plane landed safely and the canines plus the vixens were soon heading up a path that took them up to the mountains. It was a beautiful scenery and the air felt so clean and pure. Jade couldn’t help but smile. Although it wasn’t her home country of Japan, this would work to get some training in. “It’s nice to see that this hasn’t changed at all,” stated Nicholas.
“It’s such a quiet, peaceful place,” said Stanley.
“By the way, this is my first time being in China,” commented Ruby. “Is the place still a ways from here?”
“See that archway over there?” asked the long haired vulpine and pointed it out. “Beyond that there’s a bridge we have to cross. And we’ll find it there.”
It didn’t take long and soon the group found themselves at an entrance way that had the same crest from before that those who had seen Nicholas fight against Jade. They could see the mountain village bellow them. And standing in front of them was a dwarf, elderly, female red panda. She wore glasses and even smoked a small pipe. This new one looked up as everyone approached and her eyebrows went up.
Nicholas let out a chuckle. “Well, well. If it ain’t old lady Pinako. It’s been a long time. I was hoping I could speak with my master to help me out with something.”
“You’ve returned Nicholas; I knew you would someday,” replied the red panda. “I see you’ve brought quite a few friends this time.”
“Indeed. Although I think one of them is more than that.” Everyone else was introduced.
“You always had that ability to make friends easily,” said Pinako. “It’s nice to see that hasn’t changed.”
“Yeah, well, that’s one of my best points,” Nicholas replied.
“Huh, yet it seems like you’ve gone and gotten weaker.” The red panda could clearly see this with some of the other guys who had bigger muscles. The long haired vulpine snapped and whipped his head to look and got even more pissed off.
“WHO ARE YOU CALLING WEAK YOU MINIATURE SIZED HAG?!”
The female snapped as well. “You’re weaker than your temper!”
“YOU’RE SO SHORT YOU’RE TWO DIMENSIONAL!”
“Baby sized arms!”
“MICRO MORON!”
Suddenly another female voice sounded out of nowhere. “Damn it Nicholas!” The said guy’s ears flicked as he heard the sound of something being thrown at him. The vulpine caught it with his right paw to reveal it was a small training sword about the size of knife made of wood. Everyone else looked in shock at this.
“How many times have I told you to call me before coming back here?!” They looked and could see another female red panda but this one was very pretty with short, black hair. She was perched in a tree by the entrance.
“Damn it Hotaru!” shouted Nicholas. “Are you trying to get me killed?!” The newcomer let out a happy laugh.
“Welcome back!”
“Yeah right…” grumbled the fox. “Welcome back my ass…” Topaz just looked at this new female with a bit of worry. It seemed this Hotaru knew her boyfriend quiet well.

The group was lead into the one of the buildings at the edge of the village. In there Hotaru was introduced to the group. However Nicholas stated that he would tell her and Pinako what had been happening latter when his master by the name of Sarutobi had time to see him since at the moment he was a bit busy. However even the two red pandas could tell how happy the vulpine was when stating who Topaz was and that it was his girlfriend.
“So you finally got one, huh?” commented Pinako. “I’m really happy for you.”
“And lucky,” replied Hotaru. “Although maybe not as much as me.”
“Huh?” asked the vulpine with long hair. “What do you mean? I think it’s more than luck I’ve hooked up with Topaz.” Those words touched the said vixen’s heart, causing her to looked at her boyfriend with love.
“Would you say the same for me who’s getting married?” said the younger red panda.
“Huh?!” Nicholas stated, all shocked. “You mean…?”
“Yes,” answered Hotaru. “I was going to invite you any day now but then you showed up with your friends. However it won’t take place yet. Not until we’ve dealt with the problem that has come up as of late.”
“You mean The Panda King and Furious Fuchsia,” replied the vulpine. The rest of the group knew that this village was a help to Diamond as had been explained by Nicholas. After all she had sent him here for training. So talking about the reason they were here wouldn’t be a problem.
“Yes, but… how did you know?” ask Pinako. She and Hotaru were quickly told.
“I see,” stated the older red panda. “That old Arctic Fox is still working hard to stop evil it would seems.”
Suddenly another came in stating that Sarutobi was ready for them. The group was lead away. In a clearing at the center of the village a male giant panda the same age as Pinako was playing a wooden flute, just mediating. Despite his looks he was quite strong and still a bit muscular. Suddenly his eyes opened as a rabbit and a student came running up. “Master!” stated the the first. “Nicholas has returned!”
“I thought it might be him,” replied the panda. “Ever since this morning I have sensed something that can only come from that vulpine. But it feels different this time. Like he has found inner peace.”
The group was soon assembled before Sarutobi. By the looks on most of their faces, they weren’t expecting a giant panda. Nicholas stepped forward and placed his right fist in his open left paw and bowed to the bear. “Master… It has been far too long.”
“It has Nicholas,” responded the panda and bowed in the same style. “I knew you would come back one day. I’ve seen you’ve brought many friends with you. Come, we have much to talk about.” The group was lead to a room nearby. There not only were the rest of the Canines and Vixens introduced, but a summary of what they had been up to, and why they were here. Sarutobi listened the whole time. During this the rest of the canines and vixens learned that Diamond had sent Nicholas here to get stronger in the first place and trained under this person.
When finished it was the panda that spoke. “What you’ve spoken has explained many things. Why you’re stronger and why you’ve seem to be more calm and at peace with the world Nicholas.”
“Yes master,” responded the vulpine. “Topaz here is the main reason. Falling in love with her is something I don’t regret. I was finally able to find inner peace as you told me to do so.”
“And yet what would happen if she becomes lost or at worst killed?”
“None of that will happen,” responded the fox with firmness. “Because I won’t let it happen.” She and the others couldn’t help but smile, the blonde hair vixen even more.
“I see that your resolve is set,” stated Sarutobi. He then turned to the rest of the group. “Do not think I’ve forgotten about you. It is an honor that you’ve come here. Especially Sapphire, Emerald, Kane, and Jade.”
“You know about me?” asked the Arctic fox.
“Of course. Even as isolated as we are, you’re famous here. And I for one know Jade quite well.”
“But we’ve never met,” stated the petite vixen.
“No, but your sensei and I have. We’re great friends and he’s told me much about you, young one.”
“He never told me that,” responded Jade, surprised by this.
“Your sensei never had a reason to which is why I imagine he kept silent about it,” explained the panda. “Now then, the question we should ask ourselves is what to do now.”
“Do you have any information about the Panda King and Furious Fuchsia master?” asked Nicholas. “We came here also since I thought you might have noticed something since you’re near the place they’re rumored to be at.”
“The winds have carried news of the evil that has settled in those mountains. I’ve sent some of the best there. However I don’t expect them to return in a little more than a week.”
“I see, so we’re stuck here for now,” responded the long haired vulpine.
“Well maybe we can like train or enjoy or time here,” suggested Topaz. “Maybe Mendoza can do some shots of us.”
“Seems to be the best option at the moment,” said Sarutobi. “Before the ones sent out come back a small tournament will be held. The annual one which you know about Nicholas. You and your friends are welcome to compete in it. But I mainly want you to do so to see how much you’ve grown.”
“I understand master,” the vulpine responded.
“Then let’s get all of you to your rooms.”
It didn’t take long and Nicholas ended up changing into cloths that were more worn around this area complete with his gloves. A black top that was sleeveless that had small red ties on the front and pants that matched. The rest stayed as they were. The first thing on the list was the photo shoot. Topaz and her boyfriend had a cute one as usual by having her dress in an outfit similar to the vulpine. He wrapped his arms behind his girlfriend and kissed her cheek, causing the vixen to squeal and giggle. It was to be mentioned that during the photo shoot somehow Emerald and James seemed to get a little closer than usual along with Paul and Jade. However nothing as of yet would come out of this.
The next day Nicholas and the petite vixen went to find Sarutobi. The female had discussed on learning the Kaze Movement while here. The found the panda meditating but he looked up when the younger species entered. “We’re sorry to disturb you master, but I’ve come here with a student for you,” stated the vulpine.
“What do you mean?” ask Sarutobi as the bear stood up.
“I wish to learn the Kaze Movement after seeing it being done by Nicholas,” explained Jade. The panda regarded the two for a long moment.
“Why do you desire it?”
“Well, I guess my main reason is to become stronger… than I am now. Even if I have to risk my life I’ll do it.”
“Your sensei was right about you and being eager,” stated Sarutobi. “Although I suppose I should teach you. It was him after all when he came some years before Nicholas arrived who gave me the idea for this technique. That’s why it’s called the Kaze Movement. Using the Japanese word for wind instead of the Chinese one. However unless you have the necessary speed, it’s futile to begin.”
“Maybe she already has,” Nicholas commented. “Master, the reason she saw me use it was because we fought against each other. And she was able to keep up with me for most of it. Jade might just be fast enough to learn this technique.”
“Is that so? Still it took even Nicholas a month to attain the technique and put it into battle. You to will have a month to achieve this Jade. If you cannot, you will die here.” The news was a shock to her. “You said after all that you would wager your life.”
“I did,” responded the vixen with a smirk. “But saying ‘you’ll die here’ is different. Okay, I’ll take up the training. But I can’t let myself die because of my friends. And we don’t have time to mess around training before those you sent out get back and the tournament. I don’t need a month! I’ll master the Kaze Movement in a week!”
A bit latter found Nicholas talking with Hotaru for a little while just one on one. At one point their talk became about Topaz. “I can see you’ve become quite a vulpine and wonderful warrior,” stated the female. “Although she may seem a bit like a klutz I can tell Topaz is a good vixen for you.”
“Wait, how did you know?” asked the vulpine.
“They say a male becomes great with a good female by his side. That’s why my soon to be husband is the best. Because I’m a good female.” The fox couldn’t help but smile at that.
The next day training began. For everyone in the group. Except for Aquamarine and Desmond who spent their time just exploring the village since that vixen wasn’t the combat type. However it was during this that Emerald and James would get a little closer. It all started when the vixen was at a place to work on punches and kicks on wooden targets that had rotating arms. She had practiced with some of the others who lived here and was told to practice on the targets. James suddenly appeared to see the female taking a breather. “You’re working hard,” he commented.
“James,” she replied, while blushing a bit. And wondering why it was happening. Even though Emerald knew the reason. But it caused conflict inside of her since that last ex-boyfriend.
“But you may want to loosen up a bit,” stated the German Shepard. Suddenly the female felt weak and began to fall back. A massive head rush had happened for Emerald indicating she needed a break. James easily caught her. “Or you will make me worry.”
The vixen’s eyes went wide with shock when she realized the position she was in and a massive blush took her face. “Let go of me…” Emerald growled slightly.
“Wait for it to pass.”
“Let go of me now.”
“Don’t get excited,” commented James in a bit of a teasing voice.
“James, being held by you is hardly enough to get me excited,” the vixen snapped. She was stood up by him.
“Sorry sweetheart. But I ain’t got time for anything else.” The male walked away with a smirk.
Jade in the meantime was still trying to get the Kaze Movement down. The vixen was panting and covered with sweat. “Damn,” she growled. “This isn’t working. I just can’t get it down.”
“To say is easy. To do is hard,” stated a voice. It was Sarutobi. “You know how difficult the Kaze Movement is. Are you beginning to think it’s impossible to learn in just a week?”
“I haven’t given up yet. I’ll look forward to you deciding… If I can do it or not in in the time I have left this week.”
“All right,” said the panda. “You have that. There are five days left. After that, if you still can’t do it… You’ll die.”
The days passed one by one. Everyone else couldn’t help but notice Jade working on this. “If anyone can do it, it’s her,” commented the Paul. But Sarutobi thought otherwise.
“The Kaze Movement is something that took even Nicholas a month to learn. To attain it with sheer determination alone will not be easy.”
Finally it became the sixth day and it was night time. Jade still had some left before dark really set in. “Ugh…” the vixen groaned. “Shit… I don’t know if I have anymore strength. I’m finished…”
“Jade…” went a voice. She looked up and was shocked to see her father and sensei standing before her.
“Wait… this can’t be. I must be dreaming of hallucinating…” Jade was too tired to care at the moment.
“It’s alright,” stated the older fox. “You’ve done enough my daughter. You’ve worked hard to master this technique. If you recognize defeat, you may have a chance to be spared from death. But if you force your body and spirit even more right now you might die.”
“Forget everything and rest,” commented the vixen’s teacher. “This is your sensei’s order.”
“I’m sorry father and sensei,” Jade responded. “But I can’t obey. For the sake of the one who opened my eyes, Paul, and the rest of my friends and team, I have to be strong now. Whether you two are a dream or phantoms I was glad to see both of you again.” The vixen picked herself off the ground and the images of the two others disappeared.
Morning came and Sarutobi along with Paul and Nicholas found the vixen. She was laying face up on a rock. “Dead from exhaustion,” stated the panda.
“No, I feel she’s alive,” commented the Corsac fox.
“You’re damn right I am,” went the voice of Jade causing all three males to jump. They saw her sit up. “I was tired and thought I’d grab a little sleep, that’s all.”
“But… It seems you haven’t mastered the Kaze Movement yet,” said Nicholas. The vixen smirked and stood up. Suddenly she moved and in that moment showed that she could do it like the long haired vulpine. Both him and Sarutobi were left in shock and their eyes went wide. “I figured it out just now. But once you get the hand of it, you could do it even before breakfast.”
“I don’t believe it…” whispered Nicholas. “You really got it down.”
“Truly, you have great talent…” said Sarutobi.
“Talent?” Jade repeated. “My life was on the line! Don’t end it with a word like that.”
“You’re right,” stated the panda. “I’m sorry. Let me rephrase. A great vixen.” He could tell that she was a changed person. Like when Nicholas left the first time. Jade was a mere chick, but now like a young bird leaving the nest. The next thing everyone knew was that the female began to fall. Paul rushed up and caught her.
“Seems she’s out cold again,” stated the male who held Jade. He cradled the petite vixen and kissed her forehead. “I’ll take her back to her room.”
The female slowly came to and found herself in the bed at the room she was staying at. “Hey, seems you’re awake.” Looking to her left saw Paul with a grin.
“Paul?” asked Jade and slowly sat up. “How long…?”
“Have I’ve been here and you’ve been out? A good number of hours. Don’t worry, you’ll have time to rest before the tournament which will happen in two days. I’ve stayed by your side the whole time you were knocked out.” Somehow his smile made the vixen blush. Which was odd to her. But that’s what Jade did with resting before the tournament. And spending time with Paul. This would however be interesting to say the least.
