Scout's Honor
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
That night Scout made sure to stay awake long after his master and his master’s mate had turned in for the night. The eevee was not at all pleased that something was out there that brought fear into his home and though he wasn’t powerful enough or confident enough to try and go out and find whatever it was the normal type pokemon was determined to keep a close eye over those within the house. Twice now he had checked over his brother eeveelutions, the other elemental pokemon having tucked themselves close to one another for comfort that evening within their shared room. Blazer had tried to assure him that all would be right but Scout didn’t believe the other.
How could he?
After all, if something had been powerful enough to startle his master’s mate then who knew what could happen to them. Ever since he had come into their lives the lucario pokemorph had been nothing short of unbreakable, both in mind and body. There had been at least two incidents following the entry of the fighting-steel type’s into their home that had fortified the notion in Scout’s mind that the large pokemon - who smelled an awful lot like a human at times - would be able to handle anything that Arceus threw his way. Now though, to see the large pokemorph hugging Keith so closely to him, it made Scout angry.
His master shouldn’t have to live in fear!
His master’s mate shouldn’t be shaken!
Scout growled, the fur around the rim of his neck drawing up into thick bristles, as the normal type pokemon looked outside of the open window into the darkness of the night. The full moon shone brightly within the veil that was the sky, the smaller stars surrounding the eye of the mother moon seemed to wink tauntingly back at the eevee making him all the more incensed.
And then a howl broke through the night. Deep. Long. And very, very loud.
Scout hopped up from where he was situated next to Max and then padded his way over to the window. Pressing his face against the glass the eevee snarled as he searched around the area outside for whatever it was that had made the boisterous noise. Long ears perked skyward, the normal type eeveelution searched and searched and searched some more but he failed to find what had howled out loud. And then something reached around his body drawing him away from the window. He struggled for a bit until soft words made him calm down.
‘It’s ok. We’re safe in here for now.’ Max said gently.
Scout grumbled and replied back his thoughts on that matter.
‘We can’t go searching for it tonight. Not because I don’t want to, but because we’re not ready for whatever it is out there.’ the lucario admitted with great annoyance. Scout scowled at that. ‘Before we can go and face whatever it is out there we need a plan to take it on and at this moment in time none of have the mental strength to come up with anything, so let’s just rest for now.’
Though the words made sense to him Scout still felt the flame of white rage bite into his heart. The paw holding him drew him close to the fighting-steel type pokemorph before placing him down onto the golden field which was Max’s stomach.
‘Tomorrow we can go out together and look for whatever that may have been, but for now let’s just sleep.’ Max telepathically stated before rubbing his massive fingers across the smaller pokemon’s backside.
Scout grumbled in annoyance but complied with what his master’s mate suggested, though his ears were remained perked on top of his head the whole night through.
