It wasn’t long before Topaz and Nicholas managed to get back to the van. They reported all they had encountered while at the place. “Yeah, they need to go down,” stated James when this was finished.
“So what’s our attack plan?” asked Sapphire.
“This time we’re going back up,” answered Nicholas. “We can’t sit around unlike that first mission. We need to take action. We’ll get everyone up there and then split into groups. Since there are fireworks and explosives, I think it would be best if James and Emerald handled that part. Aqua and Des, you handle the security as usual. The rest of you except for Jade and Paul will handle the rest of the areas. However me and Topaz along with the other two will check out this temple before hitting the enemy leaders. We’ll all meet back up in the center when our tasks are complete.”
“Sounds good mate,” stated the Corsac fox with a grin. “Let’s get going up there.”

It took a bit of work but eventually everyone got in except for Mendoza, Alexander, and Victoria. After entering, the Canines and Vixens split up into groups. Right away Ruby and Stanley along with Sapphire and Kane found a huge explosive production facility. Part of it was a tower to store them and with a little work, the four managed to get them useless by soaking them in the snow surrounding the structure.
In the meantime Emerald and James had managed to find their way into a building that had been pointed out by Nicholas as the one creating the explosives. Both the male and female had to first get through a metal door which was no match for the German Shepard’s explosives. He was careful though to make sure that these didn’t end up destroying anything else. The path wasn’t a walk in the park since there were barriers and guards who were those that used martial arts. But even these species couldn’t stand up to the vixen who was skilled in hand to hand combat.
Another metal door blocked the path of the two, but it didn’t take much for James to blow it up. Walking inside found the him and Emerald inside the factory area. They could see crates and conveyor belts along with hooks moving boxes and explosives from one end of the factory to the other. “Wow, look at all this,” commented the German Shepard. “Even I have to admit this is quite the build.”
“Now’s not the time to admire the enemy,” Emerald responded.
“I know I just-“ The male was interrupted when suddenly an announcement came on.
“Attention, valued employee,” went the voice with the Chinese accent. “It has come to our attention that a group of spies are loose somewhere in this stronghold.” The second voice with the slight Japanese accent then came on.
“Please do your part to pitch in by killing these intruders on sight. Thank you, that is all.”
“Ah hell no they’re going to get me!” Emerald growled and ran forward.
“Emerald wait!” shouted James, chasing after her. Too late, the vixen was off like a shot and running into danger. The female came to a screeching halt as she saw guards descending down on them. The German Shepard caught up with Emerald. “You see what I mean?!” he growled and began to fire at them, taking the enemy out.
“Are you saying this is my fault?!” she yelled and took out another bad guy.
“You charge in without thinking! Almost like Topaz!”
“Don’t blame this on me!” Now it was the fact her feelings of James along with uncertainty as well as his feelings of the vixen and worrying about her coming out. Even if the female could take care of herself. Suddenly the German Shepard fired at some explosives which began to go off.
“Aw shit…” was all the male managed to get out before they exploded. The blast sent all the enemy and the two spies flying. He managed to grab Emerald and protect her from the explosion. With that this part of the enemies’s stronghold was destroyed.
For what seemed like the longest time, the two didn’t move. Then they slowly began to stir. “Emerald?” asked James. “Are you okay?”
“I think so…” she managed to say.
“God I’m sorry I said that to you,” the male commented. “I could never forgive myself if you ended up hating me…”
Suddenly the female felt something warm and wet on her outfit. Something that felt horribly like blood. The vixen quickly had him and her up and saw that she was fine. But James wasn’t. Some wooden shards had impaled him in the lower right leg. Nothing too serious but it would make the German Shepard not able to do this mission any more. “Oh my god!” Emerald stated. “Are you okay?!”
“I’ve had worse,” he grunted. “Here… just put some snow on the wound and help me take these out. We need to get to Onyx and Granite. They should be able to fix me up.” The female did so and even was able to find some cloth to bind the wound. “Hey, not bad handy work,” said the German Shepard.
The vixen had remained quiet throughout this helping and suddenly took one of his paws. “I’m sorry…” she whispered. “This was… this was my fault, wasn’t it?” Against Emerald’s will tears began to come out of her eyes. The vixen hadn’t cried in years but couldn’t help herself.
“Emerald?” asked James, shocked by this, looking up at the female.
“I’m sorry! I… I should stay away from you… from now on.”
The German Shepard grabbed the female by the shoulders. She looked up in surprise, the tears still running down her face. Only to go to a look of shock as the male pressed his lips against hers. Emerald at first tried to push back against him, but James just held the female tighter. But then the vixen stopped and kissed the male back. After the longest time both came apart. He laid his head on her right shoulder. “Please don’t Emerald,” James whispered. “I like you; a lot. All I want is for us to be together. If that is alright with you. No matter what. Which is why I need to know; will you go out with me after this mission is over?”
“James…” Emerald responded softly. “How can I say no after that? I will since I feel that same way.”
He then contacted Granite and Onyx since like before everyone had communicators to get to the others. While waiting the male and female held each other to keep warm, exchanging their feelings with words along with nuzzles and pecks. Eventually the older ones made it and could see what had happened to James. In just a bit his leg was treated but it would take a few days before it could work properly again.
Meanwhile Nicholas, Topaz, Jade, and Paul had made it to the one area the long haired vulpine wanted help at. They could see that the temple had the looks of a training ground. And that there was security. Luckily this didn’t prove to be a problem. Of course there were points that had no steps to use to get to upper levels. But these four had no problem getting over them. But what nobody got was why there weren’t any guards standing in their way. Eventually the small band made it to a room which had to be the main area. They could just tell. In front of them a flag that was rectangular on a pole that had a fire symbol on it. Behind it was a gong.
“So… what’s going to be in here mates?” asked Paul.
“Don’t look at me,” commented Jade. “How the hell should I know?”
“Whatever it is make sure you keep your guard up,” said Nicholas. “I have this nasty feeling something’s waiting for us.”
“You like think it’s a trap?” asked Topaz.
“Maybe.” His girlfriend got a sad look and her boyfriend touched his paw to her left causing the vixen to look at him in surprise. “Hey don’t be like that. We’ve gotten out of them before.”
“Sorry, maybe I’m being silly.”
“No, you’re right to take precaution,” he stated and gave the same paw a squeeze which Topaz returned.
“Okay love birds, are we ready to go?” asked Jade with a grin.
“Yippie kai yay mother fucker,” Nicholas answered and lead the way in. The group could see a large open space that was divided up by wooden sections. But nothing was here.
“Now what?” asked the vixen with short hair.

Suddenly the room was filled with guards. Many had swords but some had other weapons. The two with katanas quickly had them out while Paul took a ready stance with his fists up. Topaz just looked with weary eyes. “Just like back in Utah,” stated Nicholas. “Nothing we can’t handle.” The guards slowly approached. The long haired vulpine and Jade took a ready pose with their weapons, causing the enemy to halt for a moment.
Suddenly the shorter vixen struck out with a shout catching one off guard and wounding him. All hell broke loose as Topaz fired her gun quickly, causing the baddies to be knocked out by the drugs in the bullets before ducking under a blow. Paul whipped out his guns and began to use the ends like blunt weapons before firing. Nicholas in the meantime had his grappling hook from his right arm out and threw it, the blade going right through one of the heads of the enemy; an instant kill. His sword was a blur.
The four used the massive amounts of enemy to their advantage, sending bodies into groups of those still standing to unbalance them. Suddenly one with a white sword in its sheath came after Jade. Pulling it out showed that it held two swords. The two engaged in a fiery dance. Meanwhile Nicholas turned after cutting down another and caught a hand ax that had been thrown at him by the handle. With astounding speed, the vulpine sent it back at it’s owner, knocking the guard down, the weapon buried in his chest.
“Just go Nicholas and Topaz!” yelled Paul as he knocked out another. “Me and Jade can handle these goons!” Both nodded and quickly were on the other side of the room and through a door. The two quickly had it closed behind them. The room they were in had a stone floor and weapons on racks on all four sides. A few windows were here to let in the light.
“You like think they’ll be alright?” whispered the blonde vixen.
“Knowing those two, they’ll get out of it,” the vulpine answered. “Hey, listen, sorry you had to see me kill again. I’ve done so again and again and have lost count how many have fallen by my paws.”
“Would you rather be killed and leave me?” she asked. “I so know you have to. But I also know that you’re really a kind, caring person. Nothing that happens will make me stop knowing that.”
Nicholas smiled. But it was cut short when the two foxes heard laughter. Two voices doing it at the same time. “So you finally came,” they both said in unison.
“No…” growled the vulpine. “I know those voices well…” He whipped around to find two female lemurs descending from above and landed in front of the two. They were identical twins and wore a purple top that led their stomachs exposed and a sexy bottom like a bikini. Their shoes were like sandals and of the same color.

“Well if it isn’t him,” stated one of the lemurs. “Do you remember dear sister?”
“I do quite well,” commented the other.
“It’s you…” Nicholas snarled. “The twins, the nasty fucking little twins; Ira and Ria.”
“Wait… you mean…?” asked Topaz with a scared look. These female looked mean.
“Yeah, they’re the ones who gave me the scar on my chin. And I intend to pay them back.”
“Oh how scary,” taunted one of the twins. “Seeing as how you couldn’t handle us both last time, what makes you think you can now? Even though I can clearly see you’ve got a new weapon. And more confidence in your eyes.”
“Things are different this time. And don’t think I’m the same from when we last fought.”
“So it would seem,” commented the other lemur. “Dear sister, hold the other.”
Before Nicholas and Topaz could react the first ran and had the vixen pined so she couldn’t move or speak. “Topaz!” yelled the vulpine. Her eyes were dilated to slits, showing how scared she was.
“Oh my,” taunted the one holding Topaz. “You’re quite the looker. Are you even sure you should be a spy? You should have stayed home vixen.”
“Let. Her. Go,” Nicholas growled slowly advancing on the lemur. His sword was out.
“One more step and I’ll rip her pretty eyes out,” the one holding the vixen threatened. “Or don’t you care what happens to her? We know you do.”
“The look in your eyes says it,” stated the other twin. “Now then Nicholas, we have a little unfinished business. Especially since both of us are members of the Deadly Five. I’m sure you’ve heard of that little group.”
“I should’ve figured you two would come back,” Nicholas snarled. “Looks like I have to beat the one standing in front of me first.” The male turned to Topaz. “Just wait, I’ll win this for sure.”
The twin facing against the fox threw some knives but he deflected them with his katana. “I told you things are different,” he whispered and turned to ace the enemy with anger in his eyes. “Now you’ll see how much stronger I’ve gotten.

The vulpine charged forward and his opponent was surprised by his speed. His sword swung in an arc which would have ended the lemur’s life has she not dodged at the last second. Flipping back the female grabbed a spear from one of the weapon racks. The handle was made of wood. A quick thrust was done which the vulpine blocked with ease. The twin launched herself forward and both were engaged in a fiery dance.
Topaz just watched with worry, but also amazement at the speed he was going at. Only that fight against Jade had been this impressive. Both of the twins were shocked by this. Last time the male had been barely able to keep up with even one of them. Now he could hold his own. Whatever thrusts and sweeps of the spear that weren’t blocked by his katana the vulpine moved his body. Suddenly a powerful blow staggered him back towards a table. His opponent pressed her attack until Nicholas was pressed with his back on the furniture. The spear was against his sword. Topaz let out a muffled cry at seeing her boyfriend like this.
The vulpine cried out and knocked his opponent’s weapon to the side and moved just as the twin came down with the spear, breaking the table. Nicholas grabbed the pole arm and with two strikes sliced the blade off and the wooden pole in half. The vulpine threw the blade at the lemur who moved her head. But not fast enough. The metal cut her on the cheek before slamming into the wall behind her and got stuck. For a few moments nobody moved. The female licked at the blood which had begun to run down her face. Her sister looked on with worry now.
The next weapons that were drawn out were two hooked like weapons. But the lemur had barely drawn them when Nicholas came charging in. His blade was like a web of steel. But somehow the twin was able to stop his attacks. The two broke apart and the female went on the offensive. Even at points chaining in kicks and punches which the vulpine blocked and countered. Suddenly the enemy got her weapons hooked around the male’s katana. With a smirk he twerked the blade, breaking the other weapons. With a kick the fox sent the lemur back.
Quickly the twin rose up only to find that Nicholas had his sword back in his holder and had brought out both grappling hooks. Both were thrown and the female somehow dogged them. The female looked up and saw that the fox was getting ready again for another swing with both. The guy was flawless. But she quickly grabbed a sword and deflected his hooks which quickly got put away. His katana came out and both were at it again.
Suddenly the one the enemy had split into two weapons. But this didn’t phase Nicholas at all. He just pressed his attack even more and suddenly had the enemy disarmed. But she began to punch and kick. The fox just blocked and countered. Suddenly the lemur found herself on the group and before the female could get back up, the vulpine had hit a pressure point to keep her immobilized.
“IRA!” shouted the other. In that moment the sibling had forgotten to stay the same so Nicholas knew who he wasn’t fighting. The vulpine in that instant realized who it was on the ground. Topaz suddenly felt her holder’s grip shaken just enough. The vixen moved and suddenly Ria found the female fox moving. Topaz did some backflips and landed next to Nicholas.
“Now then Ira I think you can see it’s no use to beat me,” growled the vulpine. He could also see the bottom of her right shoe that showed the symbol of the group she was in and guessed Ria had it on the same place. Suddenly a smoke bomb came out, causing the two foxes to cough and cover their eyes. Ria quickly had her sister and was running with her.
“You may have won this time Nicholas. You’ve gotten stronger, much stronger,” went the sibling’s voice. “But mark my words you will pay for this someday!”
“Fuck, they got away!” snarled the male as the smoke cleared.
“Let them go,” whispered Topaz, scared to see her boyfriend like this. “Please…”
“I’m sorry,” he whispered to his girlfriend. “Come on. Let’s get back to the others.”
It didn’t take long to do so right in front of the statue. Jade and Paul had survived and so had the others. “Well it seems we’ve got everything taken care of,” stated Sapphire. “Now all that’s left are those two.”
“Very good,” Nicholas responded.
“We’ve found a way up there while hacking into the security,” commented Desmond. “A secret passage starting at the base will get you up there.”
“Excellent work.”
“So let’s move,” said Jade.
“Not yet,” Nicholas answered. “First there’s something I need to tell all of you. It can’t wait.” He went on to explain how he got his scar from Ira and Ria. A bit after the Alpha Canines had been formed all of them but Granite had gone on a mission and run into the two lemurs. Nicholas had tried to fight both of them but had been beaten very badly. The result was that one of them had used a knife to cut his chin. But just before they could torture him further, the others came in, scaring the twins off. The vulpine had never felt so helpless. As a result Diamond had sent the male fox to Sarutobi where he trained for nine months. Upon leaving it was like the vulpine was a young chick leaving the nest.
When the talking was over, Topaz hugged him. “Oh Nicholas…” she whispered. “I like had no idea…”
“It’s okay,” he responded. “I’m stronger now.”
“Then if you have said that, I need to say something as well,” said James. He and Emerald went on to say that they were also a couple now to the shock of everyone else. But they could see how happy even the vixen was.
“Well it’s nice you’ve got him,” stated Nicholas. “He’s a good match for you. But now let’s get going Topaz, Jade, and Paul.” The other three nodded and they took off for the statue.

Nicholas smiled. But it was cut short when the two foxes heard laughter. Two voices doing it at the same time. “So you finally came,” they both said in unison.
“No…” growled the vulpine. “I know those voices well…” He whipped around to find two female lemurs descending from above and landed in front of the two. They were identical twins and wore a purple top that led their stomachs exposed and a sexy bottom like a bikini. Their shoes were like sandals and of the same color.

“Well if it isn’t him,” stated one of the lemurs. “Do you remember dear sister?”
“I do quite well,” commented the other.
“It’s you…” Nicholas snarled. “The twins, the nasty fucking little twins; Ira and Ria.”
“Wait… you mean…?” asked Topaz with a scared look. These female looked mean.
“Yeah, they’re the ones who gave me the scar on my chin. And I intend to pay them back.”
“Oh how scary,” taunted one of the twins. “Seeing as how you couldn’t handle us both last time, what makes you think you can now? Even though I can clearly see you’ve got a new weapon. And more confidence in your eyes.”
“Things are different this time. And don’t think I’m the same from when we last fought.”
“So it would seem,” commented the other lemur. “Dear sister, hold the other.”
Before Nicholas and Topaz could react the first ran and had the vixen pined so she couldn’t move or speak. “Topaz!” yelled the vulpine. Her eyes were dilated to slits, showing how scared she was.
“Oh my,” taunted the one holding Topaz. “You’re quite the looker. Are you even sure you should be a spy? You should have stayed home vixen.”
“Let. Her. Go,” Nicholas growled slowly advancing on the lemur. His sword was out.
“One more step and I’ll rip her pretty eyes out,” the one holding the vixen threatened. “Or don’t you care what happens to her? We know you do.”
“The look in your eyes says it,” stated the other twin. “Now then Nicholas, we have a little unfinished business. Especially since both of us are members of the Deadly Five. I’m sure you’ve heard of that little group.”
“I should’ve figured you two would come back,” Nicholas snarled. “Looks like I have to beat the one standing in front of me first.” The male turned to Topaz. “Just wait, I’ll win this for sure.”
The twin facing against the fox threw some knives but he deflected them with his katana. “I told you things are different,” he whispered and turned to ace the enemy with anger in his eyes. “Now you’ll see how much stronger I’ve gotten.

The vulpine charged forward and his opponent was surprised by his speed. His sword swung in an arc which would have ended the lemur’s life has she not dodged at the last second. Flipping back the female grabbed a spear from one of the weapon racks. The handle was made of wood. A quick thrust was done which the vulpine blocked with ease. The twin launched herself forward and both were engaged in a fiery dance.
Topaz just watched with worry, but also amazement at the speed he was going at. Only that fight against Jade had been this impressive. Both of the twins were shocked by this. Last time the male had been barely able to keep up with even one of them. Now he could hold his own. Whatever thrusts and sweeps of the spear that weren’t blocked by his katana the vulpine moved his body. Suddenly a powerful blow staggered him back towards a table. His opponent pressed her attack until Nicholas was pressed with his back on the furniture. The spear was against his sword. Topaz let out a muffled cry at seeing her boyfriend like this.
The vulpine cried out and knocked his opponent’s weapon to the side and moved just as the twin came down with the spear, breaking the table. Nicholas grabbed the pole arm and with two strikes sliced the blade off and the wooden pole in half. The vulpine threw the blade at the lemur who moved her head. But not fast enough. The metal cut her on the cheek before slamming into the wall behind her and got stuck. For a few moments nobody moved. The female licked at the blood which had begun to run down her face. Her sister looked on with worry now.
The next weapons that were drawn out were two hooked like weapons. But the lemur had barely drawn them when Nicholas came charging in. His blade was like a web of steel. But somehow the twin was able to stop his attacks. The two broke apart and the female went on the offensive. Even at points chaining in kicks and punches which the vulpine blocked and countered. Suddenly the enemy got her weapons hooked around the male’s katana. With a smirk he twerked the blade, breaking the other weapons. With a kick the fox sent the lemur back.
Quickly the twin rose up only to find that Nicholas had his sword back in his holder and had brought out both grappling hooks. Both were thrown and the female somehow dogged them. The female looked up and saw that the fox was getting ready again for another swing with both. The guy was flawless. But she quickly grabbed a sword and deflected his hooks which quickly got put away. His katana came out and both were at it again.
Suddenly the one the enemy had split into two weapons. But this didn’t phase Nicholas at all. He just pressed his attack even more and suddenly had the enemy disarmed. But she began to punch and kick. The fox just blocked and countered. Suddenly the lemur found herself on the group and before the female could get back up, the vulpine had hit a pressure point to keep her immobilized.
“IRA!” shouted the other. In that moment the sibling had forgotten to stay the same so Nicholas knew who he wasn’t fighting. The vulpine in that instant realized who it was on the ground. Topaz suddenly felt her holder’s grip shaken just enough. The vixen moved and suddenly Ria found the female fox moving. Topaz did some backflips and landed next to Nicholas.
“Now then Ira I think you can see it’s no use to beat me,” growled the vulpine. He could also see the bottom of her right shoe that showed the symbol of the group she was in and guessed Ria had it on the same place. Suddenly a smoke bomb came out, causing the two foxes to cough and cover their eyes. Ria quickly had her sister and was running with her.
“You may have won this time Nicholas. You’ve gotten stronger, much stronger,” went the sibling’s voice. “But mark my words you will pay for this someday!”
“Fuck, they got away!” snarled the male as the smoke cleared.
“Let them go,” whispered Topaz, scared to see her boyfriend like this. “Please…”
“I’m sorry,” he whispered to his girlfriend. “Come on. Let’s get back to the others.”
It didn’t take long to do so right in front of the statue. Jade and Paul had survived and so had the others. “Well it seems we’ve got everything taken care of,” stated Sapphire. “Now all that’s left are those two.”
“Very good,” Nicholas responded.
“We’ve found a way up there while hacking into the security,” commented Desmond. “A secret passage starting at the base will get you up there.”
“Excellent work.”
“So let’s move,” said Jade.
“Not yet,” Nicholas answered. “First there’s something I need to tell all of you. It can’t wait.” He went on to explain how he got his scar from Ira and Ria. A bit after the Alpha Canines had been formed all of them but Granite had gone on a mission and run into the two lemurs. Nicholas had tried to fight both of them but had been beaten very badly. The result was that one of them had used a knife to cut his chin. But just before they could torture him further, the others came in, scaring the twins off. The vulpine had never felt so helpless. As a result Diamond had sent the male fox to Sarutobi where he trained for nine months. Upon leaving it was like the vulpine was a young chick leaving the nest.
When the talking was over, Topaz hugged him. “Oh Nicholas…” she whispered. “I like had no idea…”
“It’s okay,” he responded. “I’m stronger now.”
“Then if you have said that, I need to say something as well,” said James. He and Emerald went on to say that they were also a couple now to the shock of everyone else. But they could see how happy even the vixen was.
“Well it’s nice you’ve got him,” stated Nicholas. “He’s a good match for you. But now let’s get going Topaz, Jade, and Paul.” The other three nodded and they took off for the statue.
