Early Ford V8 Museum 47 - 1942 40 HP Four-Cylinder Engine
Title can't be empty.

This 1942 in-line four cylinder engine only produced 40 HP yet was considered average for the time. Now I have a Ford I-4 with probably a third of the displacement that produces just under four times as much horsepower (and probably gets four times the mileage as well!).

that 120 lbs per square inch gives a compression ration of 1:8 at 1250rpm.
Compared to a modern engine with a ration of 1:13 and more at 4000++ rpm.
