Lynxil is Unamused
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
Winged tiger-dragon thing is unamused.

Grumpycat ain't got nothin'...
I cannot believe that I never uploaded this. It's super-duper old, but it's still one of my all-time, absolute favorite pieces.
Anywho... This was actually my first attempt at the concept for Lynxil Salventi. Looks more like a winged tabbey-tiger than anything else... but I was thrilled to bits with it at the time, and I'm still pretty thrilled with how it came out.
I'll probably try to dig the original up and rescan it soon... as this is a pretty tiny image... lol
The rest of the character info is copied from my dA post.
Lynxil is... to put it as blunt and brief as I can... The descendent of a line of dragon-gryphon halfbreeds.
The line started with royalty of two countries, a minor prince from the country of Gyredell (gryphons) and a princess (the King's sister) from the country of Drakil (dragons). When it was discovered that the king's sister had fallen gravid (and her having no mate... tsk, tsk, tsk) the gryphon prince came forward and admitted to the affair. Well, both countries were riled up over the whole scandal, obviously, but neither of the rulers were willing to risk war, so they came to an agreement. The offending parties and their illegitimate offspring would be sent into exile in the human realms (with which tentative relations were just opening up) and, as the decree stated, "Let befall them there whatever God deems just." The exiles combined their two surnames, Salnidaan and Dunventi, into Salventi and took that as the name of their house. They had twins, a boy and a girl. As the fairy realms weren't (and aren't) yet known to the human public, they had to use rune spells to disguise themselves as humans, and they were the only ones of non-human-but-sentient type there.
So, six inbred generations later, comes Lynxil "Lynxie" or "Lynx" Salventi, who goes by the alias "Aaron."
He has been raised by an inter-realm crime syndicate known as the Jeldack Syndicate, and so he has street-smarts and, of course, an automatic handgun :). He, like the rest of his line before him, lives in the slummier part of a major human city (nondescript at the moment), where it is fairly easy for someone of his particular "afflictions" to stay out of the public (and government) eye. He's reasonably well educated, and halfway decent as far as guys go (he tries to be, at least) but lives alone. He prefers the dark to the buzzing lights.
Life is relatively simple for Lynxie, if not dangerous and depressing, until someone knocks on his door waaay too late in the night to be out in the slums... especially when that someone is a she. Everything changes then. His relatively stable life is upended and uprooted, only to be replanted in a place already crumbling and about to fall apart.

Probably half an hour (aahhhh... the good ol' days...) on Strathmore toned tan paper... using a combination of 0.7mm HB mechanical pencil and a Dixon-Ticonderoga pencil (but no sharpener). I remember it quite well, actually...
