Nicholas x Shine: New Years
So here we go with this next chapter. I'm doing some of the art now since there's so much of it I couldn't do it all in one day. Next month things will really pick up for me and Shine in the story.

New Years Romance
The night that Nicholas had mentioned for New Years came quickly. Shine was ready for it with the fosky. She had her gift from him at Christmas in her paw so he could put it on her before the event. Right on time the guy came driving up. This time the vixen went out to meet him just as the guy got out of the car. "There you are Shine," he stated.
"Hey you," she replied.
"Ready to head out?"
"Well… there is one thing first you can do for me," the vixen commented with a sweet smile and held out her paw. In the palm was the necklace the fosky had given her. "You can put this on me."
"You're right I need to." The male took it and after moving Shine's hair out of the way, and fastened it around the vixen's neck. His finger left warm spots on her as she blushed. When it was on, the male with one finger traced around the neck and up the chin a little.
"You really do look beautiful with that on," he replied. This time there was no embarrassment in his voice. Shine smiled and blushed harder. "Come on, we need to get going."
The two got in his car and were off to one of the hotel lobbies in the area that was hosting this celebration. A number of others that had been to the two things before that Shine had attended were here to. "So… what is this?" she asked.
"Oh this place I've come to a couple times before after my friends introduced me," NIcholas explained. He had told the female before hand this was going to last all night to sunrise. Shine had gotten enough rest for it. "While there are the traditional things associated with the New Year they've got things from Japan and China related things to the holiday here as well. It's a great way to get a taste of both cultures."
The vixen could see some of the other females in kimonos along with other things that showed what Nicholas said to be true. "Still it's very crowded," Shine commented.
"Can't be helped," the fosky replied. "This place is a very popular attraction."
The two and the fosky's friends made their way through the area, checking out the booths and doing the fun activities. Shine saw a lot of different things but always stuck right by Nicholas's side. He in turn always kept an eye out on her. On some occasions the fosky had to grab the vixen gently to keep Shine from getting hurt or separated from him. Each time the two would blush and look anywhere else but at each other. Fortunately there was a lot to keep distract both right away when these things happened.
A bit latter found them and their group at a place to toss coins in a container. This currency had one hole in the center of each coin. Nicholas explained to Shine how it worked. "You can see by my necklace what I believe in but it's fun to do this kind of thing and make a wish," the fosky said. "It's also fun what other religions and cultures have people to do like this."
"Okay if you say so," the vixen replied.
The two tossed a couple of these special coins in the container and clapped their paws together. "So I'm going for my second big wish for now," the male stated. "My first is coming latter."
"Wait what do you mean latter?" Shine asked.
"You'll see…" the fosky replied with a smile.
Not long after that midnight came and fireworks went off after everyone counted down. Noisemakers went off and many couples kissed. Shine just looked up at the fireworks going off, determined not to look at Nicholas. She knew if she did, the vixen was sure to tackle him in a kiss. The female didn't want that to happen as she was afraid that might make the guy leave. But the fun wasn't over yet even though some people left. Not the group the fosky and vixen were in; they were going to be up all night.
The two spent the time having the food and drink here as well as the fun things like burning incense and drawing fortunes. Nicholas and Shine of course ended up having more cute moments with accidental tail brushing and fingers crossing when reaching for somethings. But then at last the time came for the final event. "It's time to head outside," Nicholas told the vixen.
"Why?" she asked. "What are we doing?"
"There's a small shrine up a long flight of stairs nearby here. You can see the sun rise from there. But it's tough. There's the stairs and you can't leave for the top until thirty minutes before sunrise. There's a time limit. But… if you do make it they say your wish will come true."
"Oh so that's what you meant about asking for your biggest wish latter," Shine said.
"I didn't make it the last times but I will this time." Nicholas then leaned to whisper into the vixen's ear. "I've been practicing all year for this. I know I can do it. Just don't tell anyone else."
"My lips are sealed," the female replied giving his chin a playful flick. She decided she was going to try this as well. The female had another wish she wanted to come true.
They made it with those that wanted to get there and there were a lot of species. The female saw Nicholas warm up with stretching and she followed suit, ready for this. The two then got into position and a bell was struck. Everyone charged up the steps. The vixen was in shape but then in a bit she began to feel the burn in her entire lower body. "Ugh… damn…" she growled. Looking back showed others falling behind her.
Looking ahead showed Nicholas was just fine and looking back. The fosky had stopped and waited for the vixen. "Shine… you okay?" he asked.
"Yeah…" she panted. "Let me rest a bit…" The female slumped to the ground.
"I think this is a bit tough for you," the male stated. He then looked up. "And… judging from how it's getting lighter it must be almost time for sunrise."
Shine tired to get up but couldn't do it. "No… I can't make it," she whispered.
Nicholas steady his revolve. "Shine!" he stated. "You might not be able to make it… but you will since I can carry you! Come on!"
The vixen suddenly found herself on his back. "Nicholas?!" she exclaimed, shocked by this.
The male didn't answer but with her on his back began to bound and run up the remaining steps. The vixen just smiled and buried her face into his neck, breathing in the male's scent. His warmth made the female feel good as well as safe and loved. It wasn't much longer until they got up to the top. "Looks like we made it," the male said and carefully lowered the vixen to the ground.
"We did… I never thought you'd be able to do that with me on your back," the female stated. "And I'm heavy."
"What the hell are you talking about, you're light," the fosky replied, giving her a playful elbow.
Both then looked and saw the sun rising up. "There it is," Nicholas commented. "Being up all night is quite the thing. And this is something I'l always remember."
"Yeah… me to," Shine replied blushing a little again. He was to. "So… where do we make our wish?"
"Oh! Right here!" There was a small shrine that the guy pointed out. They went over to it.
"My Shine… may you be happy forever with me…" Nicholas thought in his head.
"I hope… this year I can tell how I feel about you and be happy," the vixen thought in her head. That was their biggest wish this year.
The two then looked as the sun rose even more as others began to show up. It had been a fun night but both knew this was just the beginning of it for this year. "So… should we head down and home?" the female commented. "I really need to get to bed since I'm now beginning to feel tired. It was fun though. Thank you for this Nicholas."
"Of course," he replied. "But… I need to say something. Happy New Year. I really hope it's good for you."
"You to," the vixen said with a sweet smile. She and him walked down the whole way, paw in paw. Both were smiling at each other. But it would be next month when things would really begin for the two and for Shine especially in more ways than one.
