A Day in the Life of a Star
Title can't be empty.
Title can't be empty.
I seem to be in a mood to upload all of my greatest mistakes. This song came about as something written for a fine young drummer named Doug Jones. In the early 1980s (before you were born, most of you...!), he was the percussionist for several different bands and singer/songwriters (including Garrett Schroeder, especially on his 1979 Lack of Sleep album. Alas, the song never debuted with a band, although several showed interest, including "Raintree" (fronted by Anthony Klonaris). In those days, you made your chops by singing in any dive within a 250-mile radius that would book you. I was in Huntsville TX at the time, and that radius covered a lot of ground. You threw your stuff into a van or VW bus, drove where you had to, and hoped for the best. Not exactly glamorous, but that's where this song came from.
This solo performance was in the "part 2" of my would-be demo tape, recorded in the spring of 1985. As always, I can list a dozen dozen goofs, but submitted herewith sans further comment... hope you like it.

Now as to TBW's comment I was already born and in my mid teens around the time the demo was taped.
