For the majority of his life, Kajex Surnahm performed his work as a Jedi Sentinel in expected civilian attire- a captain's longcoat, a gear-bag, a blaster on his hip and a lightsaber concealed in an inner pocket, for emergencies. After all, the best way to avoid being murdered by the Empire and it's Sith was to make sure nobody noticed you.

Living outside of Imperial jurisdiction also helped. Mostly.

But eventually he would come to meet a Trianii Jedi-in-training named Syrra- after a year of being her mentor and guiding her down the path of the Sentinel, she would reach knighthood. Eventually the wolf ran out of excuses to avoid wear a robe, and after a series of misadventures came to own his own set of Jedi attire.

I daresay he looks good in it. :3
