Amorous Love Chapter 30
Happy Day
The due week for the baby to be born had been estimated correctly but not the date or hour. Nicholas and Skye were alert as they weren’t certain when the time came. But the vixen then knew it was time when she felt her water break. Luckily she and Nicholas were at home when it happened. And when it did, the vixen let out a surprise gasp. “Oh my!” Skye whispered.
“Honey…?” the fosky asked, suspecting.
“It’s time…” Those two words were all that was needed to make the male get into hyperdrive.
Luckily the traffic was light and so it was a smooth trip to the hospital even though the vixen began to feel pain and discomfort. The good news was that the doctor they had been doing the checkups with the couple was here and ready to help. Skye was soon in the room and on the bed. Even though meds had been given to help her with the pain, the vixen still felt the discomfort. But she was tough and young and would make it through this. In the meantime Nicholas had made sure to call everyone else that would want to be here and let them know what was going on with Skye. During a break with the delivery, Skye let out a painful sigh. “Now I know how my mom must have felt when having me,” the female said.
“It’ll be worth it,” Nicholas told her, his paws holding hers. “You’ve got this love.”
Then at last the doctor spoke the words they had been waiting for after some time had passed. “We’re almost there. Just one more.”
Skye gave it her all with sweat beginning to pool on top of her head with a loud painful grunt. And then it was over. For one second the vixen felt the absence of the baby in her and the pain while the doctor caught the newborn. And then the sound of the cries were heard much to the delight of those here who had also been making sure this went smoothly. Nicholas just let out a shaky breath as tears came to his eyes. “I’m a father!” he whispered happily, whipping them away.
Skye on the other hand was crying tears of happiness herself. “Congrats you two, it’s a girl,” the doctor then said,
“Wait… a daughter?” Nicholas asked, surprised. The vixen was to for one second. She had been expecting a son. But then she broke into her loving smile.
“Let me see her…” the new mother managed to say due to her crying.
The baby was mostly cleaned up and no longer crying but had a bit of a grumpy look on her face by the time she was handed over. Looking showed to the surprise of her parents that she had Nicholas’s eyes and was pure grey all over with no markings or patterns like Skye. But there was a bit of neck fluff like hers that would grow out as the child got older. “Oh my god…” the mother vixen whispered, still having tears going down her cheeks. “She’s just so beautiful… she’s so tiny…”
“Yes… she’s our little baby girl,” the new father whispered, touching his daughter’s tiny nose which was the same colors as his wife’s. The new born began to coo seeing her parent’s faces.
“Ooooohhh she knows who we are already,” Skye said, bringing the child in to kiss her forehead.
“Of course she does,” Nicholas commented with a grin. “What child wouldn’t associate their parent’s faces when first born?” He placed a paw under the tiny head. “She’s our child. Our little Meredith…”
Meredith was soon having her first drink from Skye. Nicholas in the meantime went out to let the others know what was going on. When his wife and the baby were ready for the guests, they came in. “Oh Skye, she’s just so beautiful!” her mother cried happily seeing her new grandchild.
“Looks like she mostly looks like Skye,” said her father, also happy he was a grandfather.
“Congrats you two,” Colby told the married couple, happy he was an uncle. Everyone else was very happy to. But Skye and Nicholas were the most with her being a bit more. The vixen couldn’t love her daughter anymore just like the fosky. Now another test was here for the couple and to raise a family. They were more than ready for this.
