For years now, I've had a little note at the bottom of my "Upload Descriptions Log" document, being pushed further and further down with each additional upload. A reminder, for "Page 099 or round-about". I think I'll keep that little reminder, sitting just above this description.
So way back on Page 66, I realized I had a problem. I've described the problem before elsewhere in multiple descriptions, but it spawned a choice. I chose to depict the memory sequence of Yeltsin and Rederick's night out to a bar back in college. One of those moments that hurts to write, I called it. And did but, today's the date for that something more I said I wanted to say about it. One of the key deciding factors in favor of including the memory sequence was this page (remember: the kiss decision was about splitting that giant page into 3 pages). When I was mulling over the memory and fleshing it out, I realized that the moment between Rederick and Yeltsin in the library paralleled this moment here beautifully. I even chose here to lean into it further here, with some of the posing. Later, when the page 66 was split into 3 pages and the kiss was added in, this page went to page 99, further suiting my purposes...
Anyhow, glad to finally get that out!
So I think I still have some room to improve with our bulky fellow's form. That's probably the most glaring technicality I have with this page. I was somewhat disappointed with 4th panel's barrenness, but it fit my requirements. *cough*P046F4*cough*. This hallway was planned to effectively be the same hallway environment Blythe was traveling through, albeit depicting a main thoroughfare. The planters were planned to give Yeltsin a space to sort of hide, but in the dev period, I decided it felt out of place to just have the one set, so that expanded a bit. But of course, the final shot choices make it virtually impossible to guess it's a hallway at all, lol. It's not the only thing I worked on during that development spurt last month, however... but we'll get to that soon enough.
