Yes, one has to Marvel at how short and final the life of a comic book character can be. Though he went down in flames like a Phoenix, fighting like a Wolverine, he was regarded as a bit of a Superman in his trade; although he was a bit of a Joker. He wove webs pf intrigue like a spider, man, and lived in the Grey areas that most shun.

Is this the end of Silver? Well, it's as certain as live and death in this Marvelous Universe.

It's always amusing to hear Tina readers certain about where a certain plot is going, when one has read the book already......

It does look a bit ominous; guy with a history of heart problems, last day on the job, "Oh just 8 more hours and I'm free!"

Yeah, I can see that.
But only two people die before the end of the story; I've got to use death sparingly. Not like F.O.X. Academy- I think during my first appearance there were more than 2 deaths before we finished the first paragraph.

Heh-heh, I remember that “10 little Indians” experiment. I was actually going to kill you off, or at least trade you to the Russians, but I could not resist the allure of a perfectly made martini.

A Martini to die for.......
5 parts good Vodka (I preferred Belvedere)
1 part Martini & Rossi Vermouth, Extra Dry
Add to stainless cocktail shaker with crushed ice
Put crushed ice and water in a LARGE Martini glass. Let stand
Shake mix vigorously
Dump ice mix from glass
Strain ice and serve with garnish (I prefer cocktail onions, which technically make this a Vodka Gibson, but Gin and Olives still produce an outstanding result, if you're into that sort of thing)

Ahhhh ... always shaken, never stirred.
You might want to try Silent Sam Vodka if you can get it down there. Not only is it incredibly smooth , the name also reminds me of Sinister Sam, the mascot of Canadian intelligence operators.

'Rotten Rudy' Giuliana is the mascot of the American intelligence community. We keep him in his own caged compound at Langley, and only let him out when needed.

Sounds like he was cheating on her with a woman named Gracie Mansion.

We don't give our mayors mansions here, not even a log cabin in the woods.

NYC is the only city that does, to my knowlege. CT like most states has a Governor's Mansion. When they removed, then coonvicted governor John Roland, Lt. Governor, and our then neighbor Jodi Rell took over as Governor, but never occupied the mansion, even after being elected on her own. Every morning, a State Police car picked her up, and she rode up front with her driver. Very regular, very approachable person. I won a lunch with her at the state capital. Very special experience.

Our Provincial Premiers don't get official residences, but the Prime Minister AND the leader of the Opposition do! Imagine losing and still getting a place to live on the taxpayer's dime?

Our Governor General (represents the Queen, sometimes not very well) also gets a place in Ottawa. Trudeau is staying in a cottage on her estate because the official PM residence is in such bad shape.

Always a big argument in Parliament whether to fix the official residence at 24 Sussex or not, meanwhile it gets worse and worse.

The big difference a few years ago is that most elected officials had cars, many with drivers. The state motorpool is down considerably. In general, even in the private sector a lot of people lost compant cars. In the car dealer world, all the managers and salespeople had cars. As a manager, I got to go on the lot, and pick whatever I wanted. Now, almost no one does. In New Milford, the Fire Chief and the Police Chief have cars they take home. Even the mayor provides his own wheels.

Yeah, we don't hand those out like we used to either. Our Cops quite often get to take their car home, especially here in the rural areas. I think they have to pay the basic cost of the car but the Force pays for all the upgrades.

In Connecticut, State Police are assigned cars that they drive on and off duty. Our municipal police vehicles run 24/7, and just get handed off to someone else at the end of the shift. Typically, since we're the biggest city in the state in terms of sheer size, a police vehicle can do 100,000 miles in a year. We also shifted from cars to SUVs, given that we're fairly northern, and pretty rural.

We see our share of SUVs in the rural areas, but a fair number choose muscle cars. Nothing like seeing a Dodge Charger with oversized snow tires chasing a loaded Ford F250 through a blizzard.

CT used to be famous for it's unmarked cars- Mustangs, Camaros, Dodge Chargers, and at least one Buick Grand National.

Best one I've seen was a Dodge Caravan that looked completely ordinary until they hit the lights and siren; then every piece of trim started flashing red and blue. Fortunately it was pulling someone else over.

Although I think the Buick Regan GN took the cake, the CSP also used a giant Ford Expedition. Saw someone pulled over by it, but I don't know if it saw regular traffic duty.

When I was in Germany they used Porsche 911’s for traffic duty

I've seen pictures. White with green markings. Targas, as I recall. I bet those cars really spiked recruiting.

They had some super-fast motorcycles too.
