A Papa Proud Of His Pups
Pup McGarth... the name strikes fear into the hearts of race car drivers up and down the eastern seaboard. But how much do you really know about this guru of the gearstick? I'll tell you one thing; he has a soft spot that not a lot of people know about.
While driving home one night, Pup came across a lovely Dalmatian girl who was having car trouble. As Pup owned an independent repair service, he towed her car in and fixed it up just so. The Dalmatian girl (Dally Reid by name) quickly fell in love with him and they... let's just say they connected in a way they never had before. Dally left the next morning to go back to school, but after three months she returned with the news that she was pregnant. Pup, being an honest gentleman, asked her to marry him, and she accepted. They were married in July and their twin puppies were born at 3:25 A.M. the day before Christmas.
As the pups grew, they developed very distinct personalities. Amelia loved her father's race car and took every chance she could to play in it when she was little. She loves the driving aspect of things and cannot wait until she's old enough to drive a real race car. Amelia also hopes to become a pilot some day. Lionel (born four minutes after his sister) prefers the more mechanical side of things. He loved watching his father tinker in the garage every chance he could and often wanted to help out. Lionel also developed his own sense of style. As fate would have it, however, Dally had to put her education on hold to help raise her children, and when the pups were five, her parents insisted that she finish her education at college. So Dally applied for a two year course away from home and left Lionel and Amelia with Pup. The pups missed their mother terribly, but Pup did his best as only a father could. Shortly after the pups turned seven years old, they began helping their father in the garage; putting the skills he had taught them to good use. Pup couldn't be more proud of his wonderful children, and Lionel and Amelia are so happy to have such a wonderful daddy; the man who made their lives possible.
