Blaise and Alexis met under somewhat unpleasant circumstances, but Blaise fell in love with Alexis, and much to her relief, Alexis fell in love right back with her. This moment where Blaise kisses Alexis is not long after they've decided they want to start their relationship together. ...But that's the short and vague explanation of course.
