KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS

Reena stirred as the first rays of sunlight peaked over the
mountainside, and into her little house. She curled her neck down and lifted
her wing slightly to see Chris snuggled up against her belly, still sleeping
soundly. Sighing, she thought back to last night. I can't believe he did that for me... I wonder what made him do it.

Looking down herself, she noticed a wet patch on the bed
where her hind legs were. Oops... was
that me?
She giggled at the thought of Chris waking up to her, and relished
the feeling of his warm back against her chest.

Bringing her forepaws down to his shoulders, she pulled him
close and hugged him. This had the undesired effect of waking him.

“Mmnn?" Chris mumbled.

“Shhhhh... It's still early, so you can rest a little more"
Reena reassured him.

Chris tilted his head upwards to see her scaly muzzle. She
gave him a lick on the nose.

Humming within her chest, she thanked him. “I really
appreciate what you did for me last night Chris, it really helped with my
heat."

Chris chuckled and gave her a pat on the side. “Don't
mention it, but you really need to keep your wing over me if I stay here."

After a few minutes of lying with him, Reena giggled and
stretched, pulling her wing off of him and exposing him to the cold air.

"Oi, you pesky dragon! What was that for?" Chris shouted,
instantly woken by the rush of cold air over his body.

“Well you wanted to be up early so you could feed the
hatchlings."

Realising she was right, he got up and stretched. Reena
watched him though half closed eyes as he walked over to the corner and filled
her water trough. He sat on the couch near the fireplace as he pulled his shoes
on. Content to sleep for the rest of the morning, Reena bid him farewell and
curled up on her bed, dozing off as she heard her door close.

now [Is this better?]})/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

Chris walked briskly back to his house, shivering against
the cold morning air. He opened the door and slipped inside; glad he left his heater
on last night. Walking into the kitchen, he got some cereal and milk out.
Pouring both into a bowl, he glanced over at the little bookshelf he had on the
wall. He set his breakfast on the table and walked up to the bookshelf.
Reaching for a book titled “Dragon lore and myths" he stopped himself, noticing
a photo album next to it. He smiled and took that down, setting it on the table
and opening it as he began to eat. Glancing though them, he saw pictures of the
land they now called home, very bare when it had first been bought. Turning the
page, he saw a picture of the first clutch of hatchlings they had received. Reena
was among them, a dull blue colour at this point. Smiling to himself, he turned
the page. He stared at this image for a long while. The image depicted a
somewhat tall, dark haired boy, standing next to a beautiful blue scaled
dragon. This was three years ago...
He thought to himself. This was when I
first started thinking of her as more than a friend.

Half an hour later... He had finished his breakfast,
showered and changed, and was now heading over to the hatchlings. He walked
into the first pen and let out a low whistle. The little dragon woke suddenly,
and dashed over to him.

“Food!" it trilled.

Chris smiled and rubbed the young dragon on the snout. He
gave it a bit of jerky and poured some vegetables into its bowl. The dragon
wandered over to them and sniffed. Chris laughed as it pulled its head back and
snarled at them.

“I know they're not the best tasting food on the planet, but
they are good for you."

Chris left the little dragon by itself, and went to the next
pen. Looking up, he saw the smiling face of the little purple dragon hanging
upside down from the roof.

“Get down from there you silly bugger!" He laughed. “I'm not
gonna help you if you fall."

Knowing the dragon was too smart to allow itself to fall, he
filled its bowl and threw the jerky on its bed. He watched as it worked its way
down the wall, using the sharp talons on it wing tips as guides. He gave it a
pat when it came down, and left it humming to itself as it ate.

He braced himself as he walked into the next pen, expecting
fire everywhere. Much to his surprise, the pen was unsinged. He noted the
dragon watching him intently from its bed, and threw the jerky to it. It caught
it in its mouth and placed it on the ground, not eating it quite yet.

“You not hungry little guy?" Chris asked, suspicious.

The dragon gave him a grin, and bent over the food, letting
a gush of flames engulf the meat.

Chris instantly reached for the fire extinguisher, ready to
put out any accidents.

The dragon stared at the flaming meat for a second, before declaring
it done with a loud warble, and began to eat. Chris wondered at the strange
dragon, and left it to its own business.

Chris left and got into the Ute, driving out of the farm. He
was planning to get something for Reena, though what he was going to get, he
had no idea...

Post story notes:

Whew, I had no idea writing was so hard... I'm going to have to give DB a rest for now, as its draining at me and I'm staying up till midnight trying to come up with new ideas for it.

For now, I might do a couple of requests, and start a new story. I'll come back to DB, I promise, I just need some time to think on it.

If you have a request, please be sure to read my latest jourrnal entry. It will have all the details for what i will and wont write in it.

Thank you all for your help and support. It really is wonderful.
