Welcome to Software Development on Codidact!

Will you help us build our independent community of developers helping developers? We're small and trying to grow. We welcome questions about all aspects of software development, from design to code to QA and more. Got questions? Got answers? Got code you'd like someone to review? Please join us.

Markdown sanitization(?) in post summaries can produce different Markdown

The question https://software.codidact.com/posts/295294 includes markdown like:

Is there a way to run this command using the `$ vim --remote-expr {expr}` shell command? I know I can do this using `$ vim --remote-send ':set invnumber<cr>'`.

In the post, this appears normally; the two sections of inline code appear as inline code, as reproduced here:

Is there a way to run this command using the $ vim --remote-expr {expr} shell command? I know I can do this using $ vim --remote-send ':set invnumber<cr>'.

But in the post preview on the main list of questions (https://software.codidact.com/), it appears that the dollar signs are interpreted as surrounding LaTeX code, as if the backticks had been stripped out. To confirm, doing so in this post, like

Is there a way to run this command using the $ vim --remote-expr {expr} shell command? I know I can do this using $ vim --remote-send

produces (I added a blockquote marker just for clarity, and truncated the source to avoid a warning about an unrecognized <cr> HTML tag):

Is there a way to run this command using the $ vim --remote-expr {expr} shell command? I know I can do this using $ vim --remote-send

(I would post this on the main Meta, but it appears that LaTeX is disabled there and it must be enabled to demonstrate the problem.)
