Design
We established SoA+D Lab-Based Learning to promote and support collaboration between professors, students, and alumni, to connect our shared ideas and passions, and to create meaningful social and environmental impact. With coaching support from a myriad of subject experts, our students and collaborators learn by working directly on real world projects. Our projects take students and collaborators outside the routine of the classroom, and into real contexts, spaces, and lives in order to create value for industries, communities, and our society.
What we offer
We dedicate ourselves to improving the quality of human life through conducting research from multiple viewpoints. These viewpoints include user research, community research, social wellbeing, digital technology, building and construction technology, lighting design, interior and exterior design, materials design, and sustainable environment research.
We provide consultations and knowledge sharing on an extensive range of subjects as covered by our labs and centers. These subject areas form a collective body of knowledge that is always growing both vertically and horizontally. We are always looking for opportunities to use our interdisciplinary expertise to help businesses, organizations, and institutions solve problems and together help build a better future.
We have co-created various types of workshops and training programs with our network of universities, organizations, and companies to exchange knowledge, culture, re-skill, up-skill, and enhance the capability of our attendees and collaborators.
Our lab-based learning platform is intended to be a space for inspiration and collaboration. We engage faculty and students to explore research and real world projects together through direct practice and learning by coaching.
