New Fic: Sibling Rivalry

My friend tellywhich and I wrote a new fic. Parody, post-s4, pretty cracky. Because the best way to deal with Sherlock s4 is to make fun of it...

Title: Sibling Rivalry
Fandom: Sherlock (BBC)
Rating: Teen/PG-13
Category: Slash (Sherlock/John)

New Fic: Constantly on the Cusp

Yet another new fic based on the unofficial Sherlock Twitterverse.  This one features Sherlock in drag and is inspired by a conversation from May 1 when Sherlock talked about dressing in drag for a case.

Title: Constantly on the Cusp
Fandom: Sherlock BBC (Twitterverse)
Rating: Explicit/NC-17
Category: Slash (Sherlock/John)
Word count: 6592

Summary: John always knew that Sherlock was good at disguise.  But he didn't anticipate how strongly this one would affect him.

New Fic: Busy Mending Broken Pieces

Continuing with the trend of fics based on the Sherlock Twitterverse... this is related to an exchange that Sherlock and John had on March 16th, but you don't have to have followed the contact twitters to understand it.  I've got one or two more of these in the hopper, than some bigger fics dealing with the mess of series 4, then maybe it's back to the Pony Express universe in TS.

Title: Busy Mending Broken Pieces
Fandom: Sherlock BBC (Twitterverse)
Rating: Teen/ PG
Category: Slash (Sherlock/John)
Word count: 3662

Summary: They've never talked about the fall, or what happened after.  Time to remedy that.

New Fic: Mile High Club

My friend tellywhich and I just wrote a new fic, Mile High Club.  It's based on the not-at-all-official continuation of BBC Sherlock after s4 (except that The Final Problem didn't happen) as told through the tweets of @contactSH and @contactJHW.  There are links in the fic notes if you want to check them out - I recommend them highly; they're wonderfully in character, John and Sherlock are in a committed romantic and sexual relationship, and they're raising John's daughter together, when they're not off solving cases based on ACD canon and posting pics of other countries.

Anyway, Sherlock recently mentioned joining the Mile High Club while on a flight back to London with John, and this fic is the result of that.

Fic Rec: Time Forgotten

My friend tellywhich just posted a new Sherlock fic, Time Forgotten.  It's really lovely, set in the future, post S4 (except that The Final Problem never happened), and inspired by the Twitter accounts @contactSH and @contactJHW.  Please go check it out and give her kudos and comments!

New Fic: A Kind of Knowing

Man, it's been so long since I posted any kind of fic, I had to page backwards a couple of years through my journal to find the formatting.

This is my first attempt to make sense of the WTF that was The Final Problem.

So apparently all it takes to get me writing like a fiend again are two pretty boys and a final episode full of plot holes and inconsistencies.

wtf, Gatiss, really?

Mark Gatiss re: the criticisms about Sherlock series 4/The Final Problem:

"There hadn’t been any intention to go off piste with Sherlock, he insists. “It goes for any artistic endeavour – all you can do is your best. Sometimes you have to have an unpleasant amount of attention. But I’m stopped in the street two or three times a day by people saying how much they’ve enjoyed it. What more could you want?” From this article in The Guardian.

Seriously, dude??? Did you just use "the lurkers support me in email" as a defense to the demonstrably shitty quality of your last episode?

Snowflake challenge, day four

Day Four is for commenting to someone you haven't commented to before, and/or following or subscribing to someone you haven't before.

This one is hard since I've been out of active participation in fandom for a while.  I did follow a bunch of people on tumblr that are into Sherlock, ,although I haven't interacted with any of them directly yet.  I also have an in-real-life friend who just got into Sherlock and who is on tumblr, and I convinced her to make a DW account.  I still don't really get the whole "reblogging" thing with tumblr - I mean, I get how to do it, but it's quite different from being on LJ or DW so I think it will take me a while to get comfortable enough to try it out.

snowflake challenge, day three

Back into the swing of things, after interruptions... fortunately there's no time limit on this challenge.

Day 3 is about setting some goals for 2017.  I tend to set unspecific, broad goals like "write more" that I then have trouble following through on.  So this time I'm going to be more specific:

In no particular order...

1) write the next Pony Express story (Jim's backstory)

2) write some missing scene/fix-it fic for The FInal Problem

3) write a slash version of Texting The Runes

4) write some missing scene fic for The Rig

5) write an AU where Jim and Blair are in Lewis and Clark's Corps of Discovery
