Sneaker Tracker is built to help you track the mileage of your sneakers! In case you didn’t know, I sure didn’t not too long ago, you should replace your running shoes between 300 and 500 miles of use. Your shoes cushion your body from the impact of running, but eventually this cushion wears out and your body will bear the full impact of each run. This app exists because I didn’t feel like handwriting every single workout I did and how many miles I ran. Instead, I wanted my Apple Watch and iPhone to help me out. And so here it is, Sneaker Tracker! By default, this app will allow you to manually log workouts. And if you give it permission, Sneaker Tracker will watch for new workouts you log into the Health app. Whenever you log a workout, you should assign it to the shoe you used. From there the app will keep record of your milage and send you notifications when you reach your replacement range. Terms of Use: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
Version History Added a new chart for bonus users and revamped manual add workout screen. 2.7.2 Mar 31 Subtle improvements and bug fixes. 2.7.1 Mar 9 Apple Watch Workouts and Presets You can now start and log a workout from within the Sneaker Tracker on Apple Watch. To do this, open Sneaker Tracker on Apple Watch, navigate to the Start tab (left of the Shoe tab), and configure your workout. • Choose the Workout Type • Choose the Workout Environment • Optionally, choose the Shoe you are using. Once you have built your workout, you can save it as a preset to quick access to later. If you will use it very frequently, you can set it as a favorite and Sneaker Tracker will surface it to the top of the list the next time you want to start a workout. Once you are in the workout, you can swipe left to pause or end the workout, and you can swipe right to interact with any active media. I do want to stress. You do not have to use Sneaker Tracker to log workouts. Whatever method you have used to log workouts before will still work and I have zero plans to limit external workout logging. This is a new, and hopefully pleasant way to log workouts, should you be interested. For Bonus Users An alternative tab bar experience is available. As a peek behind the curtain. The new tab button rolled out in September 2025 is nice, but I am experimenting with alternatives to it. If you too are curious, feel free to check it out. Currently the alternative tab bar is a more familiar slider experience you may have seen other apps do. But it does take into account your accent color and has slight animations as you navigate around it. Importantly, you can still swipe from side to side and you don't *have* to use the tab bar to change tabs. You can turn this new tab bar experience on the Settings tab, in Interface Customization at the bottom of the User Interface section. Misc • Subtle tweaks to a variety of screens 2.7 Feb 17 Fixed a bug in how shoes and workouts are displayed on iPad. 2.6.2 11/04/2025 Fixing a few UI bugs on the phone app and UI enhancements for the watch workout screen. 2.6.1 10/27/2025 Glass UI and new Background choices 17/18 and 26+ Whichever OS version you are on, you will get the UI for that system. If you haven't updated to the new OS, this update will look pretty minimal. That is intentional. When you update to the new OS, you will see a lot more translucency and a new tab bar interface. But everyone, regardless of version, gets more rounded corners! Glass UI • When you are on 26+, the biggest change you'll notice is a lot more transparency and glass-like effects. • You are probably noticing that everywhere outside of this app. Sneaker Tracker specifically has been updated to fit in better with your updated OS. • With this updated UI, you may notice a variety of screens that look different. This was intentional to bring more consistency across the entire app. Tab Bar • Just like before, you can swipe left and right to navigate around Sneaker Tracker. • And replacing the previous tab bar is a tab navigation button. • Tap the button and the tab options animate open, the current tab is highlighted. • Tap the new tab you want to navigate too and the tab button closes. • By default, the tab button is populated on the lower right of the screen. Background Options • A few new background options have been added. • All users can now set your background to a custom color • And bonus users have two extra options. For Bonus Users • You can take your theme color to a whole new level now. A subtly animated gradient using your theme color is now available in Interface Customization. • This subtle animation takes your theme color, shifts it slightly, slowly over time. It changes with the system color scheme as well. • You can also use this same gradient system to a separate color of your choice as well. This allows you to set one color for your theme and a separate color for your background. Miscellaneous updates and Bug Fixes • Organized Interface Customization into its own dedicated view. • The default background is now white / black based off your system UI. The previous textured background remains available. • Fixed a bug where new users would immediately be asked to approve notifications and Apple Health access. You now need to enable these either in settings or the workout screen. • Fixed a bug where ad view appeared too soon. • There is a feature enabled for 17/18 users that I've wanted to do for a while. There is now a translucent background to a variety of views (like the Shoe and Workout views). This is only available on 17/18 due to a change in how the system UI works. But it is quite nice and I'll add it to 26+ as soon as it is available. 2.6 09/14/2025 A bug fix and an enhancement: Fixed a bug where creating a manual workout with commas would not validate. And added a feature that, when retiring a shoe, checks if that shoe is automatically assigned to specific workout types. If it is, a new screen prompts the user to update the workout assignment. 2.5.1 07/23/2025 A new way to add workouts into Sneaker Tracker. Apple Watch Workouts Bonus users can now start and log a workout from within the Sneaker Tracker on Apple Watch. This feature is an early access feature for Bonus users so that the feature can be polished up a bit more over the coming months. It will then be released to everyone by the end of 2025. I do want to stress. You do not have to use Sneaker Tracker to log workouts. Whatever method you have used to log workouts before will still work and I have zero plans to limit external workout logging. This is a new, and hopefully pleasant way to log workouts, should you be interested. Start View In preparation for future features planned, the Plus button in the middle of the tab bar has been fully built out into a whole tab dedicated to creating in Sneaker Tracker. In this Start tab, you can create a shoe, create a workout manually, add and view notes, and bonus users get access to even more early access features on this tab as well. This tab will be the home of more features in the future! Apple Watch UI Updates With the above changes for Apple Watch, it was now time to finalize the UI of Sneaker Tracker on Apple Watch. This is also a sneak peak into future UI design direction for Sneaker Tracker • Each icon has received a few tweaks. Many have received light mode tweaks, more received dark mode tweaks, and each are now tintable. • The default icon has also been very subtly tweaked to fit the changes the rest have gone through. • The Create/Edit Shoe view has been simplified. • Found some inconsistencies in the UI and cleaned those up. 2.5 07/01/2025 Fixes a UI bug where Shoe and Workout setting sheets are too small. More Workout Types With the Workouts app, you can track all sorts of activities. Many of which you need shoes for. In this update, the headline feature is adding the ability to track activities you need shoes for. • 43 new activities have been added and they have been categorized between Sports and Training. • With this big increase in workout types, Sneaker Tracker will by default only scan for what you previously wanted to scan for. • If there is a workout you would like Sneaker Tracker to scan for, all you have to do is flip the toggle next to it. • When you start scanning for a new workout, you will be presented the option to assign a default shoe to it. Shoe Type With the addition of many non-running workouts. Sneaker Tracker can now distinguish between a Distance shoe and a Lifting shoe. • When you convert to a Lifting shoe, your shoe odometer will be replaced with two new graphs. A spider graph and segmented bar graph detailing time, calories, average heart rate, and average workout time. • Switching back and forth between Distance and Lifting can be done in the more button in the Shoe view. Miscellaneous updates and Bug Fixes • You likely noticed this. The icons I am using for the workouts are now the default icons. The old circle style icons for Running and Walking unfortunately stuck out like a sore thumb when displayed next to the new non-circular icons. • A new system to sync default shoes. There were a lot of tricky bugs with how default shoes were previously setup to sync between devices. I'm using what I expect is a more straight forward system. However please let me know if your default shoes get unassigned unexpectedly. • There was a bug with backing up automatically. • The Restore from Backup feature is now in-line within Settings. • Added ability to sort retired shoes. • There continue to be bugs with sheets being presented and dismissed. I am working on figuring out what is causing this and also planning to simplify the UI code in the future. 2.4 09/17/2024 Bug fixes with a more complicated workout deduplicating algorithm and improved large workout list handling. 2.3.2 07/24/2024 Fixed a bug where retired shoes would not be displayed correctly and photos would not work when viewed via retired shoe. 2.3.1 06/05/2024 Sneaker Tracker now allows you to capture notes about your shoes and about your workouts. All Notes You can access all of your notes from the top of the Shoe and Workout tabs, or you can find the specific shoe or workout and see the notes assigned to them. • When you are viewing notes, there are a few filters you can add to better find the note you are looking for. • You can filter down by date range, by shoe, by workout, or by shoe maker. You can create notes in four ways. 1. On the main screen with the center add button. 2. On the All Notes screen. 3. When you are viewing a specific shoe. 4. When you are viewing a specific workout. In this update you will find new interactive widgets. I have two interactive widgets, here is what they do. Interactive Widgets -Shoe Preview widget. This is similar to the non-interactive widgets, however you can now loop between all non-retired shoes in your inventory. If you choose the large widget, you will also get a recent usage chart for each shoe. -For Bonus users: Workout Preview widget. This is a widget that allows you to scroll through your most recent workouts and assign them right from the widget. On the large variant, you see extra stats and charts comparing this workout to the rest of your workouts. Also in this update, I have applied a major UI rethink of the watchOS app. This new UI works better with the digital crown, watchOS 10's UI paradigms, and in my opinion feels better to navigate around. I still consider the watchOS app a public alpha, please let me know any feedback you have on the direction of the watch app. Each major release I intend to add more functionality. Miscellaneous updates and Bug Fixes -Added a new Run vs Walk vs Hiking chart. -The timeline for multi-Shoe charts now starts at the beginning of the primary shoe. -Fixed a bug where tapping on the non-interactive widget only opened Sneaker Tracker, instead of also opening that selected shoe or workout. -There has been a nagging issue where widgets haven't been updating as expected. I believe that has now been fixed! -In settings, there is now a new tool to remove duplicate workouts. While these duplicate workouts are rare in my testing, they appear to be possible and this is a tool to get rid of them. 2.2 01/23/2024 Fixed a bug for metric users updating their shoe notification ranges. 2.1.5 12/15/2023 Improved widget sync; watchOS app and home screen widgets now have improved syncing. This is only available on 17/18 due to a change in how the system UI works. But it is quite nice and I'll add it to 26+ as soon as it is available.

Version 2.4
Sneaker Tracker now has been opened up to track a lot more workout types.
More Workout Types
With the Workouts app, you can track all sorts of activities.
Shoe Type
With the addition of many non-running workouts.
Miscellaneous updates and Bug Fixes
• You likely noticed this.
