Qualifications for Employment

The committee requires that applicants have the following minimum qualifications:

  1. Be at least 18 years old.
  2. Be a high school graduate or equivalent as determined by local educational authorities.
  3. Be physically able to perform the work required as determined by an affidavit for physical performance for the sheet metal trade.
  4. Have a valid drivers license.
  5. Have a reliable means of transportation to and from worksites and related instructional classes.
  6. Submit to drug screening at the committee’s expense, if selected for the program.

ELMIRA REGION covers the following counties in New York State: Allegany, Schuyler, Steuben, Chemung, Tompkins, Tioga, Broome, Deleware, and Otsego. Pay range is $22.41 - $40.73 plus benefits.

JAMESTOWN REGION covers the following counties in New York State: Chautauqua and Cattaraugus. Pay range is $17.05 - $34.10 plus benefits.
