Purposefully designed across two floors, the new campus was built with students in mind. It features five ultrasound laboratories, two nursing skills labs, and a nursing simulation lab with three bays and a dedicated control room, all created to mirror real hospital and clinical settings. Students also gained access to an all-new Learning Resource Center, complete with computer access.

Medical Imaging Programs in Ontario, CA

Smith Chason College's Ontario campus offers a variety of healthcare programs designed to prepare students for high-demand careers in the medical field. The campus features hands-on education and flexible learning options, ideal for those pursuing careers in medical imaging and nursing.

Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
This program equips students with skills in ultrasound technology, focusing on diagnostic imaging in various specialties, including vascular, abdominal, gynecology and obstetrics, musculoskeletal, and superficial structures like thyroid and breast. Graduates are prepared to pursue entry-level roles in hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic centers throughout Ontario.

Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Cardiovascular Sonography
Students learn to perform cardiovascular imaging, focusing on the heart and vascular system. This program prepares graduates to meet the growing demand for cardiovascular sonographers in Ontario’s healthcare sector.

Academic Associate of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography

This associate degree program provides foundational skills in sonography, preparing students to perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging. It offers hands-on experience in imaging labs and clinical settings.

Academic Associate of Science in Cardiovascular Sonography

Focused on imaging the heart and vascular system, this associate degree program provides students with essential knowledge and technical skills for cardiovascular diagnostics in a healthcare setting.

Academic Associate of Science in Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Students gain expertise in operating MRI machines and learning to capture detailed internal images. This program prepares graduates for entry-level MRI technologist positions in hospitals and imaging centers across Ontario.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Qualification Certificate

Designed for MRI technologists seeking to advance their expertise and achieve ARRT(MR) certification, this certificate program provides focused training in MRI technology. Applicants must be either non-registered MRI Technologists or ARRT-credentialed Technologists seeking formal education to qualify for the Advanced-Level ARRT MRI exam. Graduates will gain the expertise needed to enhance their imaging skills and advance their careers in MRI.

Our Ontario Campus moved into its new 36,000-sq-ft, home just 2.9 miles from the previous location. Designed for student success and spanning two floors, the campus features five ultrasound labs, two nursing skills labs, a  nursing simulation lab, centralized hands-on learning spaces, multiple classrooms, an all-new Learning Resource Center, a private nursing mother’s room, and a spacious student lounge with scenic mountain views. 

Students can enjoy nearby dining spots, local coffee shops, and the Ontario Mills shopping center, offering a wide range of retail, dining, and entertainment options.

The Ontario campus provides students with a wide array of ultrasound equipment, including models like the GE Vivid E9, GE Logiq E9, Philips iE33, Samsung HS40, Acuson Sequoia 512, and Philips iU22. These machines, supported by UltraLinq, enhance students’ learning with real-time imaging capabilities. Other tools such as EKG (WelchAllyn CP150, GE MAC 1200), ABI devices, and blood pressure cuffs are also available to further support student education.

Students in the MRI programs will attend laboratory courses at off-site locations that simulate hospital or clinic environments, such as San Dimas Community Hospital Alliance Imaging Mobile, SoCal Radiology, Casa Healthcare Center, and more, preparing them for their careers and upcoming externship rotations.

Through externship programs, Smith Chason College integrates theoretical knowledge with practical experience, empowering students to thrive in their respective fields. Collaborating with hospitals and clinics nationwide, the college offers hands-on learning opportunities under a mentor’s guidance. Whether aspiring to become proficient sonographers, MRI technologists, or healthcare professionals, students gain invaluable real-life experience, supporting their goals to become exceptional practitioners prepared to meet the demands of their chosen profession.

The campus offering Nursing programs has access to on-campus simulation and skill labs that provide a simulated hospital room that includes adult and child-size mannequins, human anatomy models, hospital beds, wheelchairs and other adaptive devices, EKG machines, CPR equipment, and more. These labs mock a hospital or clinic to prepare them for their career and their upcoming clinical rotations.

Through our externship programs, we integrate theoretical knowledge with practical experience, empowering our students to thrive in their respective fields. Collaborating with hospitals and clinics nationwide, we offer hands-on learning opportunities under a mentor’s guidance. Whether aspiring to become proficient nurses or healthcare professionals, our students gain invaluable real-life experience, supporting their goals to become exceptional practitioners prepared to meet the demands of their chosen profession.

Ample on-site parking is available for students, staff, faculty, and visitors. The new location also provides convenient access to public transportation, including Omnitrans bus routes along Vineyard Avenue. Students can enjoy nearby dining spots, local coffee shops, and the Ontario Mills shopping center, offering a wide range of retail, dining, and entertainment options.

The campus occupies a secure office building with a 24/7 on-staff security guard.
