📌 Smith & Wesson Forum Classifieds – Complete Rules & Guidelines

This single rule page applies to all sections: Guns for Sale, Accessories for Sale, and Wanted to Buy (WTB). Please review the full guidelines before posting.

Who Can Post in the Classifieds?

To help maintain trust and reduce scams, only established members can list items in the Classifieds section. You must meet both of the following requirements:

• Be a member of the forum for at least 6 months
• Have at least 100 meaningful posts

🔐 Access & Posting Limits

• Supporting Members: May post multiple ads per section per month.
• Non-Supporting Members: Limited to one ad per month total, not one per section.
• One active ad per section at a time. Threads auto-close after 60 days.

📦 Posting Guidelines

• One ad per item or group of items. Do not duplicate across sections.
• All questions and offers must be sent via Direct Message (DM) — not posted as replies.
• Do not post “DM sent,” “email sent,” or similar messages.

📝 Required in Every Ad

• Location (state or region).
• Price (OBO allowed). “Make offer” is not permitted.
• At least one clear photo.
• You must own the item personally — no listings for third parties.

✅ After the Sale

• Use the SOLD button (if available) to mark your thread Sold/Withdrawn and auto-lock it.
• If you cannot edit the title or see the button, use the Report feature to request closure.
• Do not reply just to say “Sold.”

🔁 Renewing & Relisting

• Expired threads (60+ days old) may be reposted as new ads, subject to monthly limits.
• Do not bump threads more than once every 24 hours.

📌 WTB (Wanted to Buy) Listings

• Replies must be sent via DM only.
• Posters should mark listings FOUND or WITHDRAWN once completed.
• If editing isn't available, use Report to request closure.

🚫 Prohibited Actions

• Cross-posting the same item across sections.
• Posting external classified links or auction items.
• Flipping items bought here within 6 months.
• Dealers must be Supporting Vendors to list multiple items.
• Posting for a friend or third-party is not allowed.

⚠️ Rule Violations

• Violations result in a 1-point infraction (lasting 12 months).
• Repeat offenses may lead to posting restrictions or loss of classifieds access.

🚨 Safety Tips & Reporting

• Do not post phone numbers or emails publicly.
• Use DMs for all communication.
• Avoid risky payment methods like Zelle or PayPal Friends & Family.
• Report suspicious behavior using the Report link in the post.
