How Can We Help?

We're here to help you get the most out of your experience. Browse the topics below to find answers, guides, and solutions to common questions.

Question:

Are Sliquid products safe to use during pregnancy, or while I am trying to become pregnant?

Answer:

Sliquid products are formulated to be body-safe. However we haven’t performed sperm motility testing on any of our lubricants. Because of that, we can’t officially recommend it for use while trying to conceive. Everyone’s body is different, so we always suggest bringing the full ingredient list to your OB-GYN to determine what’s best for you and your partner. You can find the full ingredient list on each product page at sliquid.com. Your healthcare provider can help assess whether the formula aligns with your fertility goals.

Question:

Is Sliquid Silver safe to use with silicone toys?

Answer:

It depends on the silicone used in the toy. Typically, platinum cured silicone toys will not react with silicone lubricants. Other silicone toys will, especially “soft” or “skin” type silicone toys. If you are unsure, a water based lubricant will always be the safest choice.

Question:

What if I have an allergic reaction to Sliquid?

Answer:

Sliquid products are formulated to be hypoallergenic, using only the safest and purest ingredients available. For any discomfort, discontinue use at once and clean the affected area with a gentle soap and water. Slight allergies or redness / irritation may be helped with an over the counter antihistamine, like Benadryl, however, we always recommend consulting with your physician for any medical advice.

Question:

What is your lubricant’s pH and Osmolality?

Answer:

All lubricants are 4.1 - 4.4pH and under 1200 mOsm/kg, typically in the 500 - 800 range. All of our products are formulated for those with sensitivities most, specifically where the pH of one’s intimate areas are of key concern. For that reason alone, Sliquid has become a leading recommended brand among the medical community. In fact, Sliquid is the #1 recommended brand at the Mayo Clinic’s Women’s Wellness Center at the primary hospital in Minnesota where the physicians both recommend our brand to treating patients and also retail three (3) of our formulas within the retail store point at the hospital itself. A very profound statement that we are excited to be able to share with consumers such as yourself

Question:

Are sliquid products safe to use with non latex condoms?

Answer:

Yes, all condom types are compatible with all Sliquid lubricant products. This does not include massage oils or Sliquid Soul moisturizer.

Question:

What do you use instead of glycerin?

Answer:

We found the most natural ingredient we could - plant cellulose for the Naturals line, and Aloe & Agar Agar for the Organics line. Our key ingredient in Sliquid products is plant cellulose (if you look closely, you can see a little cloudiness in the lubricants). We also blend in Cyamposis (Guar Conditioners), a safe, non toxic, hypoallergenic additive to help the plant cellulose glide.

Question:

Are your lubricants compatible with polyisoprene/latex condoms?

Answer:

Yes, all of our lubricants are compatible with all condoms. *Please note that this does NOT apply to massage oils or Sliquid Soul.

Question:

So why no parabens?

Answer:

Parabens (methyl, propyl, butyl) are common preservatives in many household cosmetics, including deodorant, makeup, and many more. Some studies have shown a high amount of parabens present in breast cancer tissue biopsies. Though parabens are still legal to use in cosmetics here in the USA, several countries in the EU have taken steps to discontinue their use. Although there is no definitive proof of causation, we decided to stay ahead of the curve, and not take any chances with the safety of our consumers.

Question:

What is the shelf life / expiration for Sliquid lubricants?

Answer:

There is a 3 year shelf life unopened, and 6–12 months once opened. There is a lot code and shelf life date on the bottom of the bottles. Ideal storage conditions for Sliquid products are with the cap closed, room temperature, out of direct sunlight, and in a non-humid environment (i.e. don't keep your bottles in the bathroom).

Question:

Are any of your products designed to be a daily vaginal moisturizer, as well as a lubricant?

Answer:

Our Sliquid Satin is designed specifically for this purpose.

Question:

Why are Sliquid products glycerin / glycol / glycerol free?

Answer:

These ingredients are humectants, and draw moisture from air and contacted surfaces, making them slippery. They are also sugar derivatives that may contribute to yeast infections and UTIs in some people, as well as having a higher osmolality which can lead to cellular damage due to the moisture being pulled out of the skin cells.

Question:

Are orders shipped in discreet packaging? What do the box and return address look like?

Answer:

Yes, our orders are shipped in plain brown boxes or manilla envelopes, dependent on size. The return address will list Customer Care, along with our address. Packages that must go through customs to be imported may contain information about our company or the products inside.

Question:

How does your company operate regarding import duty or taxes? Will I be required to pay them myself?

Answer:

We ship international shipments with the carrier chosen by the customer at checkout. Taxes / duties are handled differently by each carrier, but the responsibility for paying import duties will fall on the receiving customer.
