SlimChecker.com is a health and weight loss information website. We cover topics like nutrition, supplements, fitness, and general wellness. Some of our articles include affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you click through and purchase something. We will always be transparent about that.
This page explains what information we collect when you visit, how we use it, and what choices you have. If anything here is unclear, feel free to reach out — our contact details are at the bottom.
1. What information we collect
Information comes to us in two ways — what you give us directly, and what gets collected automatically in the background when you use the site.
Information you give us directly only happens when you choose to contact us, fill out a form, or sign up for our newsletter. In those cases we collect your name and email address. We do not ask for your phone number, home address, payment details, or any health-related information like your weight or medical history.
Information collected automatically includes your IP address (used for security and blocking spam), your browser and device type (so the site displays correctly on your screen), which pages you visited and roughly how long you spent on each, where you came from, and whether you clicked any affiliate links we recommended.
We do not collect health records, weight data, medical histories, or any sensitive personal information. If you mention health details in a message to us, we treat it confidentially and only use it to respond to your question.
2. How we use your information
We use your information for the following purposes only:
Keeping the site working properly. Technical data like browser type helps us fix issues and make sure everything loads the way it should.
Improving our content. Seeing which articles get the most engagement tells us what topics are genuinely useful, which shapes what we write next.
Responding to messages. If you contact us, we use your name and email to reply. We do not add you to any mailing list just because you reached out — that only happens if you specifically sign up for our newsletter.
Tracking affiliate commissions. When you click a product link on our site, a cookie notifies the seller that you came from SlimChecker. If you go on to purchase something, we earn a referral commission. Your price is not affected in any way.
Legal compliance. If we are ever legally required to share information by a court or government authority, we will comply. We will try to notify you when the law allows it.
We do not build advertising profiles or use your activity on this site to serve you targeted ads elsewhere on the internet.
3. Cookies
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves to your device when you visit. It cannot read your personal files or run any programs. It just helps websites remember certain things about your visit.
We use three types of cookies. Essential cookies are required for the site to function — things like page loading and basic security. These cannot be disabled without breaking the site. Analytics cookies are set by Google Analytics to measure traffic and see which pages perform well — everything is anonymized and no individual visitor is identified. Affiliate tracking cookies are placed by the seller when you click a product link we recommended — these are controlled by the seller, not us.
You can manage or clear cookies through your browser settings at any time. Disabling essential cookies may affect how the site works.
4. Affiliate links
Some links on this site go to products or services sold by other companies. If you click through and make a purchase, we may earn a referral fee. This is a standard part of how content websites operate and it does not change the price you pay.
We only link to products we have actually looked into. We do not promote something just because it pays a higher commission.
Once you leave SlimChecker.com by clicking an affiliate link, you are on that company’s website and their privacy policy applies — not ours. We would recommend giving it a read before sharing any personal details with them.
5. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal data — not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
We do work with a small number of third-party services to keep the site running. Our website hosting provider stores our files and delivers pages to visitors. Google Analytics handles anonymous website traffic analysis. Our email marketing platform is used to send newsletters to people who signed up for them. Security services protect against attacks and spam. Each one only receives the data it needs for its specific job and is not permitted to use it for anything else.
There are two other situations where data could be shared: if a court order legally requires it, or if SlimChecker.com is ever sold. If the latter ever happens, we will post a notice in advance.
6. How long we keep your data
Contact form messages are kept for up to two years, then deleted. Google Analytics data is automatically deleted by Google after 14 months. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for roughly 30 to 90 days. Newsletter subscriber emails are kept until you unsubscribe, then removed promptly.
If you want us to delete any information we hold about you, just send us an email. We will take care of it.
7. Your rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Access. You can ask what information we hold about you. Correction. If something is wrong or outdated, you can ask us to fix it. Deletion. You can ask us to delete your information — we will do so unless we have a legal obligation to keep it. Unsubscribe. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, use it any time. Data portability. You can request a copy of the data you gave us in a readable format.
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what data we hold and the right to opt out of any sale of personal data. Since we do not sell data, that last point is already covered.
We respond to all requests within 30 days and do not charge any fees.
8. Children
This site is intended for adults. Our content covers weight loss and health topics aimed at a grown-up audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13.
If you are a parent and believe your child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us straight away and we will delete it immediately.
9. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information on this site. The entire site runs on HTTPS, which encrypts data between your browser and our server. Backend access is restricted to authorized personnel using strong credentials. We use a reputable hosting provider with solid security infrastructure built in.
No website can guarantee complete security — that is just the reality of the internet. What we can say is that we take it seriously and follow standard industry practices. If a breach ever occurred that put your data at risk, we would notify you as required by applicable law.
10. Links to other websites
Our articles link out to other websites — product pages, research sources, affiliate partners. Once you leave SlimChecker.com, this privacy policy no longer applies. The site you visit has its own privacy rules, and we have no influence over them.
It is always worth reading the privacy policy of any site before you hand over personal information — whether you arrived there from our site or anywhere else.
11. Updates to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, when we adopt new tools, or when legal requirements shift. The date at the top of this page always shows when it was last revised.
If you continue using SlimChecker.com after a policy update, that counts as acceptance of the revised terms.
12. Contact us
If you have questions about this policy or want to exercise any of your data rights, get in touch. We respond to all privacy-related emails within 30 days.
