It's been a while
Saw "Rock of Ages" - pretty good. Not much of a plot but good fun. Despicable me was great, but now I want a Minion. Going to Kaitlyn's B-Day party this afternoon. Save me!

11:01 pm
I had a wonderful birthday. It went by soooo fast though! I got home late (11:00) on Thursday night, and then had a urge to make cookies. So while the cookies where baking I made Peter's lunch. Then I had hot peacan chocolate chunk cookies and went to bet at about 11:45. Merna called at 12:43 crying. Her dogs had gotten into chocolate and she was afraid they got a toxic dose, she wanted me to go with her to the emergency vet clinic. So on the road we went to Brampton! I got back home at about 3:00 a.m. Poor Peter he was awakened each time and he had to work in the morning! Our morning started as usual but I was too sleepy to understand any of the news! Peter gave me a lovely card with a picture of the diamond saphire pendant he had on order for me and an updated map book so I can find all new streets when I am garage sale-ing. Called mom, Nancy called and then I got poor Peter off to work (after we said hello!) I changed the sheets, had a nice hot shower and went back to bed. Heaven. I slept on and off all morning stopping only to talk to nice people on the phone and change the laundry from the washer to the dryer and put another load in. Cookies for breakfast, toast for lunch and then another nap! A little reading and movie watching (Inside Man) mixed in. Peter arrived home with 12 beautiful pink and white roses (one solid white) - we said hello again and then it was off to dinner. We had a dinner for 25 catered in the party room at the Sands. It was great. Lots of room, lots of GREAT food and the kids had a ball running around screaming. Morgan and Dawne brought the triplets and everyone really enjoyed the food and their loot bags. The caterers did everything and everything went smoothly. Linda and Craig gave me a sweater, a cami and pants to match and a necklace and braclet. Nancy and Mike gave me a beautiful blue stone pendant that had a ruby at the base (40 years). Merna gave me some moon rays and a half made sappy t-shirt. Morgan and Dawne gave me a spa certificate. Mom and Dad gave me a phone charger for the car, a new beige purse, a contact carrying case and fifty dollars. Grandma gave me a crystal cake plate. I was spoiled. The sweets were great and the cake looked great too! Everyone said the party was great and it was a great idea to have it there and have the caterers do all the work - so all we had to do is relax and visit. All the kids played together well and had fun. It was much better than trying to do it in a restaurant. We were home by 9:30 then it was shower off to bed, reading online! I want to wake up and do it all over again! ;-)

Wow. It has been a whole year. Peter and I went to La Castile to celebrate last Saturday. It was a lovely meal. He gave me the most lovely bracelet. White gold and diamonds to match my rings. What a good shopper he is! We talked and talked about our "courtship" and the incredible leap of faith we made getting married. Sunday we spent in bed and shopping at the mall. It was CRAZY there. I can't believe it has only been a year. It seems like we have been married forever - and that is a good thing! It is incredibly comfortable. I love him much more now than I did when we got married. He is such a sweetie. He sings nonsense songs in the morning while he is getting ready for work and always has a smile for me. No baby yet. Just one miscarriage. We are still hopefull - at least we know we can conceive. Going to Texas next week. Can't wait for the rest. I have been working SO much lately. It will be nice to kick back and relax!

Stuff I have done
Okay heres the list of Wedding Stuff we have done:

Bought a house (this should count for like 10 things with all the trips to the bank, the lawyer, & real estate).
Sold my condo (ditto).
Call movers.
Got passport.
Chose an MC, and Bridesmaids.
Booked the hall, church, minister, photographer, picture place, limo, dj, flowers, cake.
Bought/ordered Wedding Dress, Veil, Hair piece, bridesmaid's dresses, flower girl dresses, gifts for bridesmaids, wedding favours, lingerie.
Booked hotel for wedding night.
Filled out marriage licence form.
Joined "Direct Buy" (that place is a cult!)
Picked out new washer and dryers.
Made and mailed invitations.

Stuff we have to do:
Plan rehearsal dinner.
Buy wedding bands.
Arrange for decorations and centre pieces for hall reception.
Choose songs for first dance etc.
Do sashes for flowergirl dresses.
Find earrings for bridesmaids.
Buy shoes/slippers to wear with wedding dress.
Arrange for other wedding accessories, earrings, jewelry, etc.
Plan honeymoon or Texas vacation.
Buy bedroom suite, dining room suite and couches for new house.
Arrange for new carpet, painter.
Open joint bank account.
Trousseu shopping?
Pack!

Whew! Peter's sister decided NOT to be one of my bridesmaid's (some lame excuse about no money for the dress). So now I am down to four. Don't care too much, now I don't have to include her in the wedding stuff. Marie and I are going to the reception place on Monday to arrange for the decorations, etc. and to find out about seating plan? I have booked a car wash for my car on Monday too! It really needs it! Hopefully a pedicure is in my future as well.

Been reading a lot of kids books lately. Like the series by Helen MacKay? Sassy's angel, Indio Blues & Permanent Rose. Still crazy about Protocol, Pretty When He's Mine, Connerverse & S Curve. Recently bought Profit and Roswell 2 on DVD. I need Stargate Atlantis!!! This is a case of fanfiction selling a series. All my favourite authors are writing it, so I have to watch the series so I can read the fan fiction. Peter and I saw the pilot last weekend, but that's not enough!

Engaged Girl!
Well Peter proposed at the Batman Begins movie on Monday. How appropriate was that eh? Waited until the movie was over and then dropped down to one knee right there by the seats and pulled out the ring. I've been dancing on air ever since. Halloween wedding looks doable, have to find a house too! Ring went in to get sized tonight. I miss it! It's amazing how attached you can get to a ring in 2 days. I gave Petie some jobs, DJ, Limo, Honeymoon looking, Tuxes for ushers. Gave him the okay for batman ties, or purple cumberbuns! Mom and Pop are going to do some house scouting for us.

In other news Mr. & Mrs. Smith was fantastic. Batman Begins was good too. I'm in a reading slump right now. My favourite WIP aren't showing so much P. Pet Peeve #1 Authors who hook me and then STOP writing! Evil, cruel people.

Stuff and things
Had the Monday Night bunch over tonight. Lots of fun. We were in a bitchy mood (for a change) HA! Mom and I went mall-ing today and had a blast. She bought me yarn so I can finally make myself a poncho after the two dozen or more that I have already made for other people. I bought a couple of outfits at Northern - that place is a danger to my Visa! Sold one outfit to Nancy for my birthday present. Bought Grandma's birthday gift - a lacey pink blouse (which I split with Nancy), and bought Merna a nice outfit green, black and stretchy for her birthday.
Watched Evolution while I cleaned for company. I hadn't seen it in so long I had completely forgotten most of it. I'll watch the conclusion while I crochet tomorrow morning.
I bought a ARC copy of Dearly Devoted Dexter on Ebay - it is good so far, but not as captivating as the first one. I know this because I got it on Wednesday and have not finished it yet! ;-)

Smallville
Done! Finished the third season of Smallville. Overall a very depressing series. Too many dead bodies in each episode, dark conclusions. Not like Buffy and Angel at all. They had SOME humour to balance the dark stuff and not so many deaths. Clark is too preachy, Lana has some potential, Lex and Chloe are my favourites. Haven't seen any of the 4th season, but will try to catch the reruns in the Summer. Not worth buying anymore Smallville DVDs for my collection. VERY few episodes I want to rewatch. Will save my hard earned dollars for more Roswell, and Pretender me thinks! ;-)

In love
I am in love with Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Lindsay. Excellent serial killer book where the serial killer is the narrator. So cool and funny. Dexter's chosen victims are serial killers themselves. So he's kinda doing a public service by giving into his cravings. I talked with the publisher rep at the OLA conference on Thursday and told her how much I loved it (it was her recommendation) and she said she would try to get me an advanced copy of "Dearly Devoted Dexter" the 2nd book that is due out in July! Cool. I hope she can. ;-)

Just finished reading "Sunshine" by Robin McKinley for the nth time. Excellent book. Also bought a copy of "Bitten" by Kelly Armstrong - signed by the author!

Received DVDs "Troy" and "Bourne Supremacy" from Amazon today - can't wait to watch!
