Slack for EMM is for Slack customers with Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) enabled. If you’re unsure whether this applies to your organization, we recommend using the regular Slack app.

Version History Bug Fixes • A little reminder as you go about your day: The world is a more unique place simply because you’re a part of it, and you’ve affected others in ways you can’t imagine. Oh, and no big changes to the app this time. Happy messaging! 26.06.10 21h ago Bug Fixes • Is there something strange in your neighborhood? iPad users were spooked to notice a ghostly white image in place of their newly-uploaded profile pictures. We knew who to call; this bug is now busted. 26.05.40 Jun 1 Bug Fixes • If mandatory two-factor authentication was enabled for a workspace, but an owner or admin had not yet set up their 2FA, the login screen would disappear when attempting to sign in using a magic link. This type of vanishing act isn't the sort people pay to see. Behold, the prestige: Magic link login screens have reappeared in their rightful place. 26.05.30 May 25 Bug Fixes • Callout sections in canvases can now be edited on mobile. The ink never dries on a Slack canvas — revise to your heart's delight, no matter the device in hand. 26.05.20 May 18 Bug Fixes • Don’t mind us — just making a few small adjustments to keep the app in tip-top shape. More to come soon. Cheerio! 26.05.10 May 11 Bug Fixes • If you were removed from a private channel where you had a message drafted, a "1" would remain stuck next to Drafts with no way to clear it. We'll hang on to that draft for you in case you re-join the channel, but we'll hide the notification in the meantime. • Those using the VoiceOver feature were unable to select or play audio clips. All voices deserve to be heard in Slack — this update brings harmony to the app. 26.04.50 May 4 Bug Fixes • Bugs were squashed, performance was improved, work was done, and the result was good. Please enjoy Slack responsibly. 26.04.40 Apr 27 Bug Fixes • All bugs that were fixed in this release were too small for the eye to see or too fiddly for human words to describe. Nevertheless, work was done, things tinkered with and the app became subtly better. 26.04.30 Apr 20 Bug Fixes • A little reminder as you go about your day: The world is a more unique place simply because you’re a part of it, and you’ve affected others in ways you can’t imagine. Oh, and no big changes to the app this time. Happy messaging! 26.04.20 Apr 13 Bug Fixes • Tapping "View in Browser" on remote files added via API was appending a "/" at the end of the URL, effectively breaking the link. Let us never underestimate the power of one small character to topple even the most complex systems. • Batch image uploads were broken in canvases, forcing you to upload one at a time. Sometimes it's rewarding to take the slower, more deliberate path toward accomplishing a goal — mindfully connecting with each individual element and savoring the satisfaction. Sometimes you just need to upload 20 photos at once. This was the latter. 26.04.10 Apr 6 Bug Fixes • What's black and white and (re)read all over? Your Slack messages — when conversations stayed unread on mobile even after you'd read them on desktop. This riddle of a bug is solved in our latest update. 26.03.40 Mar 30 Bug Fixes • We tuned up the engine and gave the interiors a thorough clean. Everything is now running smoothly again. 26.03.30 Mar 23 Bug Fixes • One of our menus didn't get the memo when it came to turning notifications on or off for a particular thread. Specifically, when tapping into a thread and selecting additional options (...), "Turn off notifications" was always visible, even after notifications had been disabled. Going forward, all unsubscribe requests will be honored, and records shall be updated accordingly. 26.03.20 Mar 16 Bug Fixes • iPhone-specific emoji (such as Animoji or Memoji) were failing to send within Slack. Please accept our sincerest apoloji. • Emoji were also occasionally not matching across desktop and mobile due to a localization issue. Our emoji interpreters have been working overtime to ensure this won't happen again. :ok_hand: :man-bowing: 26.03.10 Mar 9 Bug Fixes • The VoiceOver feature was glossing over certain details when announcing messages delivered via webhook. Going forward, its screen reading will be more thorough, helpful, and (dare we say it) accessible. • Returning to the main channel view after replying to a thread sometimes left a large, empty rectangle where the keyboard used to be. To put it in radio-friendly terms: We had a blank space, baby, and it was swiftly resolved. 26.02.40 Mar 2 Bug Fixes • We’ve tinkered with the internal workings and polished some rough edges. The app is now better than it was. 26.02.30 Feb 23 Bug Fixes • We tuned up the engine and gave the interiors a thorough clean. Everything is now running smoothly again. 26.02.21 Feb 16 Bug Fixes • Online indicators for guest accounts were in bad shape — that is, they weren't displaying their correct shapes (squares and triangles), defaulting instead to the familiar circle. We've quite literally squared the circle on this one, returning guest indicators to their proper geometric glory. • The mobile emoji picker wasn't taking into account your most frequently-used emoji on desktop, so if your favorite handshake reaction wasn't making the handoff to mobile, that one was on us. We promise not to let that happen again. Shake on it? • Different skin tones of the same emoji will once again be grouped together when reacting to a message. No matter our complexion, we're all one human family, even when represented as cartoon pictographs. 26.02.10 Feb 9 Bug Fixes • The filter option within the DMs tab was doing... nothing. It was ornamental, vestigial, and most definitely broken. We've filtered the offending code right out, and DMs are now A-OK. • Did you know you can send emails to a Slack channel? Pretty neat, huh? Did you also know that forwarding that message to a different channel within Slack would change your avatar to that of a bot and/or app? Notably less neat, we contend. Slack: Now with fewer identity crises. • Launching the app by tapping on a notification banner would sometimes cause channel headers and the "Back" button to be conspicuously absent. There are few things in life from which there is truly no return; go forth in Slack and know that you can always retrace your steps. • When two users had the same display name, we weren't showing their full names alongside in autocomplete menus. This gave the act of tagging someone in a message the same thrilling anxiety as greeting a person whose name you're only 50% sure you remember. Enjoy this fix, brought to you by Slack [Full Name: Slack Technologies, LLC]. 26.01.40 Feb 2 Bug Fixes • Shooting stars may be ephemeral, but starred conversations in Slack are forever — at least that was the buggy behavior folks experienced when they found they could not un-star channels and DMs on mobile. We thank our lucky stars (not to mention our mobile engineers) for this bug fix. • The "[Name] is typing..." indicator was not appearing within threads. Please take this message as indication that the bug has been fixed. 26.01.30 Jan 26 Bug Fixes • We tuned up the engine and gave the interiors a thorough clean. Everything is now running smoothly again. 26.01.20 Jan 19 Bug Fixes • We tweaked some things too small to notice or too difficult to explain. We’ll return you to your regular, more interesting types of release next time (we hope). 26.01.10 Jan 12 Bug Fixes • We tuned up the engine and gave the interiors a thorough clean. Everything is now running smoothly again. 25.12.20 12/15/2025 Bug Fixes • Apple VoiceOver was not able to select buttons anywhere in Slack outside of threads. Like your favorite cardigan, buttons and threads will, at times, be in need of repair. Here's a cozy thought: This bug has been all sewn up and tied off. • We dropped the ball on dropdown arrows, which were hovering awkwardly in the center of the screen instead of sitting politely on the side. The next time you need to expand a menu, you'll find the tappable button right where you expect it to be. • Dropdown menus were also not selecting the default value if you just pressed "Submit" without choosing anything. Perhaps it's a good reminder to always be intentional in our individual choices? Eh, probably just a bug. Our bad. 25.12.10 12/08/2025 Bug Fixes • We tidied the shelves, cleaned the windows and ran a white-gloved finger over every flat surface. Just a little routine maintenance to ensure that everything is shipshape. Full steam ahead! 25.11.30 11/24/2025

Slack for EMM version 25.04.40
Updated At: 2025-04-28
Changes: Apr 28, 2025 Version 25.04.40 Bug Fixes • While playing an audio clip, you may have noticed that the player was blocking the text field, preventing any messages from being composed during playback. Congratulations — you discovered our "Intentional Listening" feature! In truth, this was anything but intentional, so feel free to once again jot down notes while listening to clips. • Setting a custom status just got a little more customizable. With this update, you can now set your status to clear in 5-minute increments rather than 30. You know what they say: "Specificity begets felicity" (they do not say this). • iPad users with external keyboards observed that when typing a message, the Up and Down arrows would move you through the channel list on the left instead of adjusting the cursor within the text field. Good news: Your peripheral vision is working just fine. Bad news: That was a bug, and it was fairly annoying. Sorry about that.
