Our journey to Airtelligent
Although the Skymetrix name has only been around since 2021, our experience in aviation fuel and cost management goes all the way back to 2000.

FuelPlus is established.
2002
Airpas Aviation is founded.
2021
Airpas and FuelPlus merge. Skymetrix is born.
2023
Skymetrix acquires crew specialist, Rainmaker.
2025
Airtelligent is launched!
Airpas Aviation
From 2002 to 2021, Airpas Aviation was the leading provider of software for managing non-fuel direct operating cost charges — including airport charges, ground operations, navigation, crew travel and catering charges. Airpas processed more than $45 bn of direct flight charges for airlines every year. In 2021, it merged with FuelPlus to form Skymetrix and its software was rebranded as Skymetrix APx (see APx below). APx has now evolved into Airtelligent, our next-generation procure-to-pay platform.
FuelPlus
FuelPlus was the leading provider of fuel administration and management software to the aviation industry between 2000 and 2021. It managed approximately $31bn of fuel-related charges annually. FuelPlus merged with Airpas Aviation in 2021 to form Skymetrix, and at this point the FuelPlus platform was rebranded as Skymetrix FPx (see FPx below.) FPx has now evolved into Airtelligent, our next-generation procure-to-pay platform.
Rainmaker
Established in 2005 and based in Dublin, Ireland, Rainmaker Business Technologies helped 20+ airlines manage operating performance and costs related to crew. In 2023, Skymetrix acquired Rainmaker to become a ‘one-stop shop’ for airline cost efficiency. Rainmaker’s solutions continue to be developed and enhanced and are now branded as Skymetrix Crew.
FPx
When FuelPlus and Airpas merged in 2021, both companies’ products were retained and enhanced but brought under the same brand. The FuelPlus platform became Skymetrix FPx and is still used by existing customers today. It includes all our airline fuel management modules, from supply planning and procurement, to fuel and flight operations, invoicing and payments, emissions, supply chain and other specialist features. FPx functionality is now part of our latest product, Airtelligent.
APx
Following the FuelPlus–Airpas merger, the Airpas suite of solutions became known as Skymetrix APx and are still used by existing customers today. APx includes all our modules for managing operational charges, including Airport, Navigation (Overflight), Ground Handling and Catering, plus our Route Profitability Manager. The latest APx features are now built into Airtelligent, our next-generation cost management platform.
