Base area stats reflect natural snowfall only. Resort snowmaking operations contribute greatly to snow depth across lower elevations of the mountain.
Today's Snow Reporter: Helena
Saturday, March 14, 2026:
6:45 a.m. report:
I know you guys had just as much fun as I did yesterday! There were smiles all around! If you aren't ready for the fun to stop yet, I have good news for you! It's Helena this morning with a big smile of my own because I've got more new snow to report!
Up at the summit, we received 2 new inches of snow overnight, bringing our 24-hour total of new snowfall to 4 inches. Down here at the base, we're seeing 3 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours. That snow is light and low-density across the mountain. We're also seeing a bit of snow transport with the winds.
Those winds are blowing at around 10 mph this morning, and we have the possibility of some gusts up to 20 mph. This is going to make temperatures sitting in the mid- to upper teens feel more like the single digits throughout the day. We're seeing good visibility at the summit this morning, and even with the chance of some more precipitation, I expect it to remain decent.
I expect it will be a busy day up here on the Big, with everyone looking to get a slice of the goods! You can avoid the crowds (at least in the parking lot) by taking the S.N.O.W. Bus to and from town. This convenient shuttle will bring you right to the mountain from various locations around town! It's an easy-peasy way to get to the mountain and save some money on gas because, did I mention, it's totally free!
When you get up here (not if, because I know you're not going to want to miss today), be sure to stop by George's Gorge and the Silvertip trees to watch some healthy competition, as the Nate Chute Banked Slalom & Boardercross Competition kicks off today! This is a super exciting event that we're stoked to see running for its 27th season! Come check it out today and tomorrow, and check out the events page for more information!
You already know what I'm about to say. Don't duck into closures! Things could be closed for competition, avalanche mitigation, or something else. What's important is that things are closed for a reason, so don't interfere with it! If you choose to duck into close terrain, consequences are certain. Don't risk losing your pass in these awesome conditions!
Guys, I've been having way too much fun out there! Conditions are excellent, and Miracle March is really pulling through. Get out here and be safe! I'll be back shortly with a conditions update, but I think we all know it's going to be good!
The snow report is a subjective assessment of terrain and weather conditions. Snowfall and snow depths are measured at the summit and base areas around 6 a.m. each day. Actual depths may vary across the mountain and change throughout the day. Always check with ski patrol if you need more information about skiing conditions.

If you go out of bounds ...
When you exit the marked boundaries of the resort, you are entering backcountry terrain where natural and human-caused avalanches can occur. The resort does not conduct avalanche mitigation on those slopes. Always check the Flathead Avalanche Center's daily avalanche forecast and carry a beacon, shovel and probe.
Stay safe out there!
Did you know tree wells can be deadly? How do you ski or ride safely in early-season conditions? Have you read the Skier Responsibility Code?
