About Us

Network Engineering Technology Society(NETS) is dedicated to students passionate about networking, IoT, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and other telecommunication fields. We provide academic guidance, assistance with class schedules, and personalized mentorship to support students’ academic success. Beyond academics, we focus on helping members enhance and develop their technical skills through hands-on experiences and collaborative projects.

Our club is well-known for our hands-on labs, including cybersecurity and networking labs, where students are able to apply what they’ve learned in real-world scenarios and develop practical expertise.

Our Tech Talk series, where industry professionals from companies like VMware, Sony, Verkada, Apple TV, and Cisco, share their experiences, insights, and advice to inspire and guide students toward their career goals. These industry tech talks provide invaluable networking opportunities and a deeper understanding of industry trends. In addition, we hold social and general meetings to foster a sense of community and provide members with opportunities to connect, collaborate, and unwind.

Members also have access to our clubroom, IS 117B, a convenient study lounge and networking space. This space is especially beneficial for commuters or students with long gaps between classes, offering a quiet place to study, work on projects, or simply relax and connect with fellow members.

Joining our club offers an excellent opportunity to build meaningful connections within the engineering technology community and across other engineering and cybersecurity majors. Whether you’re looking to grow your expertise or expand your professional network, our club is here to support your journey!

Our club was established in 2017 as Computer Electronics and Network Technology (CENT) by Andy Nguyen(SJSU Alumni), the club was originally determined to support scholarly pursuits with advising and tutoring, offer academic and professional mentorship, and promote camaraderie for CENT/CNSM majors only. Under the leadership of Bao Nguyen(SJSU Alumni) in 2022, we are now called the Network Engineering Technology Society (NETS) and have opened our door to everyone with a love for networking.
