What is your LEAST favorite movie of all time, and why?

The live action version of Cat in the Hat. I can't even put into words how absolutely horrible and stupid that movie was. It was not my decision to go see but I had to because a friend wanted to see it. First of all, the story does not do well as a live action movie. It's funny as a Dr. Seuss book and cartoon. And then they added all these other characters that weren't in the original story!!! I'm not a prude by any means but they didn't need to put in all those sexual innuendos either. It's a children's book for gods sake! And those stupid scenes with the babysitter! If it weren't for my friend, I would have walked out. That's how bad it was. What a waste of TWO HOURS!!! LOL!!!

Writer's Block: Don't fear the reaper

Have you ever had a near-death experience? How close have you come to dying?

Wow! I'm actually posting here! What a concept! hahah!! Anyway I can tell you about several near death experiences!

1. When I was about 12 years old my mom took me to the doctor. On the way home my mom decided to dodge a train when the train signal thingies (sorry don't know the name of those) were coming down. We were in our very old VW bug, which would stall on occasion. I even asked her if it was a good idea to do that knowing that the car might stall. But my impatient mother decided to see if we can go over the tracks before the train came (thank god there was no such thing as metro link trains at that time). And like murphy's law our car decided to stall right on the tracks. All I remembered was seeing the train lights coming and us getting out of the car very quickly. Mom put the car in neutral and we were able to push the car back just in time. I swear our lives flashed before our very eyes as that cargo train (I think that's what it was) went by. Needless to say we (or at least I) will NEVER do that again. I don't care who you are...NEVER EVER try to outrun a train.

Then there was the time we were driving up to Big Bear in October for Oktoberfest. My uncle made a last-minute decision to visit some friends in their cabin. He invited us also and we (well my mom again) decided to drive up there in the evening not knowing how foggy and cold it was. So as you can imagine we drove up these slipper, windy roads in the thickest fog I've ever been in. You literally could not see an inch in front of you. And some of the roads had no rails making it very easy to go over the edge. On top of that we got lost. It was me, my mom and my two cousins in the back. The drive was very nerve wracking. At one point it was a two lane highway. My mom got so nervous that she swerved into the opposite traffic lane because she thought we were going to go over the edge. At that moment me and my cousins screamed bloody murder and then the next second we saw two headlights coming up to us. The oncoming car swerved to miss us and it was at that point my mom realized what she had done. We literally had several guardian angels looking over us at that moment. Once we stopped after finding the place, my mom vomited outside the car because of all the frayed nerves.

So yeah...I'm glad we survived that and I am never ever going to drive windy, foggy roads at night ever again!!!

Writer's Block: Bone appetit!

If your pet were arranging a dinner party, who do you think they would invite and what would they serve?

Heheh! Not sure if they'd invite anybody. My cats are loners for the most part. If they did a party my cat Marcie would probably serve anything made with Trader Joe's creamy yogurt. She goes ballistic everytime I have their yogurt. I only give her a tiny bit. I'm sure she'd like to serve that to try and get her friends to be as insanely crazy as she is for the stuff.

My other cat hershey would most likely serve Temptations treats. I swear that if she could she would live off of those instead of her regular, more nutritional food!!

Apr. 4th, 2010

Just wishing everyone a Happy Easter. I'm working today but I get off at 4 pm. Going to my sister's house for easter dinner! :)

Spending the day with lots of rock n roll doggies! LOL! At least we're closed to the public so there's no interruptions while feeding and walking the dogs. Hope to get the afternoon feedings and walkings done in a timely manner so we can get out asap!

Have a great day!

Writer's Block: Countdown

If a catastrophe struck and you had to leave your home in a hurry (and never return), what items would you grab in your last ten minutes, and why?

My cats because they're definitely irreplaceable. My hubby and important photos and documents (although lots of things are backed up on a disk so I can just take that. But yeah...just the things that are important to me.

Writer's Block: It's me, not you

Have you ever broken off a relationship with a friend because it was unhealthy for your self-esteem? Were you proud of your decision or did you regret it?

Yes I had to do it a few times. It was their self-pity that kept bringing me down. You can only do so much to help that person before it starts affecting your own well being. It was their jealousy, emotional problems, and self-centeredness (it's all about my problems and you can forget your own issues) that caused me to have mental breakdowns. You might feel bad for breaking off all ties but sometimes it's for the best.

I wish them all well and hope they get/got help but there's a time when you have to think about you're own well being. I have some friends with emotional issues now but it's different with them. They're working on their issues and it's nice to see that. For a time I felt like I was everyone's psychologist/marital therapist when I myself had my own issues that I had to keep to myself. I don't mind being a shoulder to cry on (everyone needs someone like that) but I got tired of everyone getting upset when I wasn't always there emotionally for them when I was going through my own crap.

I have those people so many chances and for awhile it would work but then they'd go back to their old routines. Very frustrating. And I was always the one that had to bail them out of their bad decisions. So yeah it was for the best.

There! /end rant!!

Writer's Block: Concert mania

What band are you dying to see live in concert that you've never seen before? Would you travel to a different city or state just to see them?

Me do that? Oh no!! hahah!! You guys are laughing I know! As you know it's not a band that I've never seen before. Been known for flying last minute to Tampa and Miami just to see this certain band! Unfortunately for this tour, finances are why we can't go everywhere. BUT!! See all of you in Pasadena and VEGAS BABY!!!

Do I really need to say who it is? ;)

Writer's Block: Airplane reading

If you're going on a long plane or road trip, what sort of reading materials do you bring along? Is it different from what you usually read? Will you watch a trashy movie or read a bad novel or magazines just to pass the time?

yeah sometimes I'll read a celeb magazine just to pass the time. I usually don't read those. Also I have been known to watch an in-flight movie that I really didn't want to see just to drown out the insanely talkative passenger that would not shut up during the entire flight. Chris can attest to that. On the way home from our honeymoon in Hawaii I had to put on the headphones and watch a Queen Latifah movie because the passenger next to us talked our ear off about his crazy political views. Now I don't have a problem with people talking politics that are opposite to mine but I do have a problem when they totally bash people with other views. The guy would not shut up for the entire FIVE HOURS!!!

The movie was okay but it sure was better than listening to him! heheh!! And yeah I'll sometimes put on the airline radio or television just to pass the time. I also like to sift through the Sky Mall catalogue and crack up at the crazy gadgets it sells! hah!!

Noone puts Baby in a corner!

RIP Patrick! You will be missed! My deepest sympathy to his wife and family!
